It's OK Thursday

Happy Friday Eve! I am so looking forward to the weekend. It's been a tough week, and I have some fun things planned for the weekend.

It's Thursday which means I'm linking up for It's OK Thursday!

Its Ok Thursdays

IT'S OK.....

To be emotional sometimes...like I was last night!

To want to try harder when it comes to being positive.

To have nice employers who plan a department luncheon. We're having one tomorrow at one of my favorite lunch spots!

To be annoyed when a bad thunderstorm wakes you up at 3 AM. We had the worst lightning, thunder that shook my apartment, and the power blinked a couple of times. I'm exhausted today.

To look like someone ran you over when you don't get adequate sleep.

To be mad when your boyfriend gets to go to Florida AGAIN without you. I can't blame him for not turning it down though, and I can't help that I have to work. However, it still sucks.

To be annoyed that he will be out of town while I actually have some time off from school and could see him.

To hate not being able to see him every day.

To look forward to seeing him this weekend! We're spending the day in Charlotte Saturday, then teaching Sunday School together on Sunday. Maybe even going to a movie?

To be excited about where life is heading!

To wish I could have 2 hour lunches instead of just 1.

To follow a bunch of teacher blogs for inspiration and to have something to look forward to!

Hope you're having a wonderful Thursday!

Sunday Social #8

Happy Sunday, y'all! Hope you're having a great weekend! I've been glued to the TV watching the Olympics. Such a glamorous life, I know. Today, I'm linking up for week 8 of Sunday Social with Neely and Ashley.

Sunday Social

1. What is your dream job?
Honestly, I'm not sure I know yet. I do love the job I have now. I wouldn't mind moving up in the company. Also, I wouldn't mind working in a college setting someday. I haven't given up on my dream of teaching either. We'll see what happens with that!

2. If you had just won the lottery and didn't need to work for money, what would you do with your time?
I'd probably still have a part-time job or maybe volunteer somewhere. I'm not one of those people who would just want to stay home all day. If I had children, I would definitely use the time to do more things with them.

3. When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?
An elementary teacher.

4. What piece of career advice would you give to someone just starting out in your field?
Know Excel backwards and forwards. You must also have somewhat of a technical mind. Being a problem solver is a huge thing in my field of work.

5. Biggest pet peeves either in life, or in blogging, or at work:
Bad grammar, being rude to your co-workers, gossiping like a bunch of 12 year olds when you're supposed to be an adult, people who don't use turn signals, people who do not go on a green light, people who never respond to you or check out your blog when you leave comments on their blog constantly.

6. Biggest fears:
Spiders, snakes, sharks, tornadoes, sounds in my house that I don't know what they are, something happening to my mom, being alone, failing.

I gotta say that I've been running out of things to blog about. Honestly, I feel like I have such a boring life. I was just telling Alyssa last night that I need more adventure in my life. I'm making that one of my goals!

Enjoy the rest of your Sunday!

One Year Anniversary of It's OK Thursday!

Happy Thursday, y'all! Today, Neely and Amber are celebrating their one year anniversary of It's OK Thursday. In addition, they are giving away a $25 Starbucks gift card AND a $25 Sephora gift card. In order to win, you MUST link-up! So what are you waiting for? Go do it! Peer pressure is a terrible thing, I know! What's OK with me this week? Well, let's find out, shall we?

Its Ok Thursdays

IT'S OK....

To be excited about getting a haircut tonight. It's long overdue! Girlfriend can't handle this ridiculous thick hair getting much longer. It's chop time! Spoken like a true Braves and Seminoles fan... I know.

To sign up to become a Julep Maven. Yes, after 3 months of pondering, I gave in. I'm addicted to nail polish. Click on the link to see how it works and what it's all about! I'm excited about getting my first box.

To be lazy this week. It's dead week around here (AKA that wonderful time of the month). TMI, I'm sorry folks. Every day after work, I come home and just collapse. On a good note, I've been able to catch up on blogs because of this.

To be excited about my dinner date with Momma on Friday. We're having dinner at Olive Garden to celebrate the fact that she's feeling 100% better. She's like a new woman! I love it! God is so good!

To be sick of all this Chick-Fil-A talk. Seriously, it's really getting on my nerves. Everyone has a difference of opinion. Let them have it! No one is in the wrong here. Take a stand for what you believe in. Nothing is wrong with that. I can't stand people who criticize and criticize and criticize.

To be excited about the Olympics starting tomorrow night! I will be glued to the TV for the next couple of weeks. Well, let's be honest, when am I not? haha!

To be ready for the football season to start. I'm getting impatient! If you know me, you know that I RARELY make plans on a Saturday during football season unless it's a special occasion. You can find me in a FSU shirt watching the games all day. I love it!

To be sad that it's 90+ degrees again. I was loving the 80 degrees weather. And yes, that extra 10 degrees does make a world of difference.

To have cried when I heard A (18 month old my mom is a nanny for) was starting to sleep in her big girl bed. It seems like just yesterday that she was born. Time flies! I'm going to be a complete WRECK when I have children. They just grow up too fast.

Well, that's it for me today. Time to head back to work for the next 4 hours. What's OK with all of you this week? Remember, go link up!

Oh, How Pinteresting!

Happy Hump Day, y'all! For some reason, I don't blog on Tuesdays. It's become somewhat of a weekly tradition. Tuesday is my Monday. Why? Well because it's usually my worst day at work, I'm the most tired, and the weekend seems so far away. So yes, this is why you rarely will hear from me on Tuesday.

Now it's time to share the pins that I'm loving this week!

The Early Years

Happy Monday, y'all! Hope everyone had a great weekend! Mine really wasn't wonderful. I spent most of the weekend hanging out on the sofa due to a weird stomach bug. Also, J and I had an argument on Saturday that wasn't fun. We're good now though. I think most of our arguments stem from us not being able to be with each other very often. When we're together, everything is always good. We worked it out though just like always.

I just got finished watching the Bachelorette finale. So happy with how it turned out! They're such a cute little family! I'm sad it's all over. Bachelor Pad doesn't really hold my attention. I'll watch it just because nothing else is on.

Today, I thought I'd share some pictures with you from the early days. Funny story... my best friend from high school, Halie, found a stack of my baby pictures in a box at her house in Florida. We have NO clue how she ended up with them. My guess is that I left them at her house during our senior year. We had to get photos together for our senior slide show. Anyway, she's going to mail them to me, but until then, I thought I would share. Sorry for the bad quality. These are really old photos. You may have to click on them to make them bigger.

My Momma and I. Best friends since day 1.

I slept this way until I was like 6 I think :)

The best man I know, my Papa! I miss that man so much!

Me as a toddler.

Momma said I wanted my own pair of overalls to match Papa's.

My first best friend, Amy, who is still my friend after 23 years! Love this girl!

My grandma and me! I'm named after her and I act just like her.  I miss her so much!

So did you enjoy the vintage pictures? It was so fun to go through these. It really made me miss my grandparents so much though! They were the best!

Hope you have a fabulous day!

It's OK Thursday!

Happy Friday Eve, y'all! I'm so ready to be done with this week! I've been trying to do better about posting regularly, but I totally forgot yesterday. Oops! It's nice to be back in the swing of things now that things are finally settling down in my life. This summer has been crazy so far! Hopefully I can relax and enjoy the rest of this month and August.

Now it's time to spill the beans about what's "OK" with me this week....

Its Ok Thursdays

IT'S OK.....

To finally be content with life for the moment

To stay up way too late last night because the Braves game started late and then went into extra innings. Probably should have gone on to sleep though, they ended up losing :(

To wear your sunglasses at your desk because the lights in the office are too bright

To want your own office just so you can turn off the lights whenever you want to. I used to do that all the time.

To change schools for your last year of school. Long story. The school I was at wasn't very good at catering to students who have full-time jobs. Plus, I couldn't find any classes I could take for the semester. Luckily, I got in to the school I originally went to 8 years ago when I moved here. They actually have an awesome Business program. I don't know why I didn't look into it sooner. I'm excited!

To be obsessed with "Come Wake Me Up" by Rascal Flatts. I've been listening to it all morning. I love songs with real emotion.

To be concerned when my friends are in bad relationships with shady people.

To be a slacker about working out lately. Tomorrow morning, this is going to change. Thank you to all of you who keep me motivated. Reading your blogs and tweets about working out has inspired me to get back at it.

To be annoyed that the AC in my car is only putting out hot air. All my extra money is going to school right now, so I will have to deal with it a bit longer.

To be obsessed with to-do lists. I always feel like I've accomplished something when I can mark another thing off my list.

What's OK with you today?

Hope y'all have a wonderful Thursday!

Life Lately

Happy Tuesday everyone! Tuesday is my least favorite day of the week. I usually feel energized on Monday because I typically get a lot of rest on the weekends. However, on Tuesday, I feel dead again. Also, the weekend seems so far away. I'm not a fan of Tuesday! Hopefully this one won't be too awful.

I realized that I haven't given you an update on my life in a couple of weeks. First of all, my mom found out the results of her kidney biopsy the same day we returned from Atlanta. The problem isn't too bad and they are now treating it with medication. Honestly, I've seen a complete change in her in the past couple of weeks. She looks better, she's lost about 15 pounds of the fluid weight, she's cooking again (which is her favorite thing to do), she has more energy, and the best thing is that she's almost back to her old self. She's had such a rough time in the past few months, and I'm so happy that she's feeling better. She goes back to the doctor in a couple of weeks for a check-up. Hopefully all will be well!

J and I are doing great. I honestly don't know where I'd be without him. He takes care of me even if we can't see each other often, and he's always there for me. I feel bad for the guy because I've had weddings and babies on the brain lately. I feel like I'm pressuring him a bit, and I really want to back off. We've talked engagement rings and houses, but I know it will happen when it's supposed to happen. Neither one of us are in a hurry, but I can't wait until the day when we don't have to say goodbye anymore. I think that's the toughest part for sure. I hate leaving him! His commitment to me means more than any ring or any marriage license, and I know we have that already. I just can't wait to spend forever with my best friend!

Gotta love the people in the background! ha! :)

My sinus problems have been absolutely horrible since last week! When my sinus medicine wears off every afternoon, I end up feeling miserable again. Sinus headaches are the absolute worst. My head was hurting so bad this afternoon that I actually wore my sunglasses for the last hour I was at work since the lights and the monitor were bothering me. After work, I came straight home and took a nap. I woke up feeling better, but the sinus pressure is still ridiculous. So yeah, I haven't been much fun to be around for the past week, haha!

So, that's my little life update. I'm trying to do better with updating the blog every day during the week. I miss it when I'm away for too long. I love connecting with all of you! I also created a Facebook page for the blog a couple of months ago. I've been trying to update it more regularly also. If you haven't liked it, you can go here to do so: "Like" me!

Hope y'all have a wonderful day!

Get to know the real me!

Happy Monday, y'all! This weekend went by so fast, but when does it not? I spent my weekend doing absolutely nothing. Well, I take that back. I did get to spend time with the cutest 18 month old ever on Saturday. The baby fever always comes back full force when I'm around her. I blame my mom for being a nanny to such a cute little girl, haha!

I've seen this going around the blogosphere this past week, so I thought I'd be a total follower. I'm not sure who came up with it, so whoever it was, I give you full credit!

If you really knew me....

* You would know that I have OCD issues that seem to get worse as I get older. I hate odd numbers, I don't like my food to touch on my plate, I always hit the lock button on my car twice every time I get out just to make sure it's locked, sometimes I'll even go back outside just to make sure, and I have the same routine every morning when I get to work. There's more, but I'll spare you!

* You would know that I'm shy until you get to know me, and I usually won't talk to you unless you talk to me first. I feel as if I'm getting a bit better at that, but I still need to improve. I've been accused of being stuck up because of this.

* You would know that just because I'm from Alabama doesn't mean you'll be hearing me say "Roll Tide". My grandma would not be pleased with that, but I'm a Florida State girl thanks to my Momma!

Before an FSU game last year. I even have FSU decor in my apartment! haha!

* You would know that I never had a relationship with my father. He passed away when I was 7, and even before that, I only saw him 2 or 3 times. I have no memory of him.

* You would know that I have trust issues from being burned. It takes a lot for me to trust someone.

* You would know that I'm obsessed with sports and there's not a day that goes by where I don't watch something sports related. It's sad when a girl loves sports more than her boyfriend! haha! I'm always having to drag him to games instead of the other way around.

* You would know that J and I "met" online.

J and I in 2007. We look so young here. Gotta love the Transformers in the background.

* You would know that I love reality TV. J says I'm obsessed which is probably true.

* You would know that when I say I love you, I always will. I'm fiercely loyal to everyone I'm close to.

* You would know that I love my job, and I take it very seriously.

* You would know that my favorite food is macaroni and cheese, and I could eat it every single day. So bad!

* You would know that my grandparents, mom, and I lived together from the time I was 4 until they both passed away. My grandfather passed away 2 years after I moved to NC. Both of their deaths were very hard on me.

The best family in the world! This was me back in 1995 after a pageant at school. Love my mom's outfit haha! She was a volleyball coach.

* You would know that I've been blogging for over a decade even though I've only had this blog for about a year.

Hope y'all have a wonderful Monday! Hopefully, I'll be a better blogger this week!

Oh, How Pinteresting!

Happy Wednesday everyone! We are halfway through this week, and I am so ready for the weekend! I'm definitely lacking in the sleep department this week. I need more hours in my day!

Today, I'm linking up with the lovely Momma-to-be, Michelle! Here are the pins I've been loving for the past couple of weeks.

Picture Overload: Atlanta Edition

Happy Tuesday everyone! I'm ready for Friday, who's with me? Today, I figured I'd share some of our pictures from Atlanta. J has some on our camera that we share that I have yet to get from him, but I also took my own. I may share some more next week when I get those. For now, enjoy! :) I only dried my hair and straightened one day on our trip which was all for nothing! An hour later, it came a downpour and ended up curly and ridiculous again, so I gave up!

10 AM - Getting ready to leave

J and I on his 33rd birthday. A little blurry.

He likes peppers and onions on his half, blah! I took him out for pizza that night. He could live on that stuff! Oh, and uh, holy cleavage!
Birthday cannoli's! Yum! Oh

We had no clue Coldplay was in Atlanta! It seemed like everyone in our hotel went except us!  Around 1 AM, we  hear a piano playing in the lobby while we're watching TV, and everyone was clapping and cheering. Well, someone decided to have their own Coldplay concert. These people were awesome! The dude playing sounded just like Chris Martin. Everyone stood outside their rooms and cheered. See the guy in the white shirt sitting at the table? He was loving it! He kept giving them a standing ovation. It was a great show! Too bad someone called security about 30 minutes later and broke it up. Highlight of our trip for sure!

Best "do not disturb" sign ever!

There was a 1 hour delay at the Braves game. We walked to Turner Field during a torrential downpour which  ruined my hair and made me look like a drowned rat. Anyway, we sat there and watched the Nationals game on the scoreboard while they fixed the field

Chipper Jones!!!!

Freddie Freeman

Me and my love in our Braves shirts. See? Drowned rat :(

Braves win!!!! It was an awesome game! I cheered so loud, and I was hoarse for the next 3 days because of it.

Final stats

Chipper was AWESOME that night! The last time we'll ever see him play :(

There was a 20 minute fireworks show after the game!

Centennial Park was off limits while we were there except for the first day. They had it all blocked off for the big 4th of July party. Luckily, J and I heard the whole thing and had a GREAT view of the fireworks from our room. It was perfect.

Where we stayed - Embassy Suites at Centennial Park

Our favorite deli!

Park Ave Deli - This was below our hotel. We ate one meal there every day whether it be breakfast or lunch. We loved it!  The owners were awesome, and the food was delish! We wanted to pack it up and take it with us.

Our suite! :) We had a full living room and a big bedroom.

We camped out in the living room every night.

I can't go to a Braves game without getting Dippin Dots in a Braves helmet. That's been my tradition since I was 7 years old.

My favorite gas station of all time... QT!!! I fell in love with QT a few years ago. They really need more of these in NC.
Hope you enjoyed the recap! Have a fabulous day!
