Friday's Letters

Photobucket

Dear Friday, I'm so happy to see you! It's been quite a week...one that I really don't want to relive. I'm moving on to bigger and better things, you know, like vacation! :)

Dear Atlanta, I can't wait to spend some time with you next week! Don't let me down!

Dear Abby, Happy birthday on Sunday! Can't wait to spend some time with you tonight at your birthday dinner.

Dear J, I'm so excited to spend your birthday with you in Atlanta! We're going to have a blast! I know we desperately need this time together. Also, thank you for getting up early and making the drive down to sit with me during Mom's biopsy. You're the bestest!

Dear ridiculous heat, could you dial it down a bit? 90 degrees at 11:00 in the morning is a bit ridiculous. The 105+ degree temps that we're supposed to get this weekend is insane too!

Dear Momma, I'm so glad that your biopsy was a success. I admire your attitude through all of this. The smile never left your face yesterday. I hope they'll be able to find whatever's causing all of this and be able to fix it quickly! I love you!

Dear blog followers, thank you so much for your support during this crazy time! I know I have neglected the blog a little bit, but that will be changing soon. Thank you for your comments on the last blog post. They have helped more than you'll ever know. I'm still working my way through them, so if you haven't got a response yet, I'm sorry. I'm so blessed to have friends like you! Hope y'all have an amazing weekend! I will be in Atlanta Sunday-Thursday, so if I'm away for a bit, that's why. I'll make sure to keep y'all updated on the Twitter.

Where do I go from here?

Today, I am breaking out of my shell and talking about some things that have been on my mind for the past few weeks. I get really nervous talking about serious things on my blog because I definitely don't want to sound like a downer, and I have no clue who reads this. Today, I just have to be honest. I have been going through a very rough time lately which is why I haven't been posting much. I don't want to this blog to become negative AT ALL! However, I have been in a negative place for awhile. I always strive to be positive. Negative people always tend to bring me down, and when I think about it, I've been around quite a few negative people in my life. I'm at a place where I want to get rid of all the negative. I just can't live like I've been living.

Lately, I have been very unhappy with just about every aspect in my life. June hasn't been a good month for me at all. The stress with my mom's illness, stress at work, stress in my love life, stress with school, etc. has gotten the best of me. I've suffered from anxiety issues ever since high school which means I've dealt with this for a decade now. It will go away for awhile, but then it will come back. When my grandfather died unexpectedly in 2006, it came back with a vengeance. He's the only father figure I've ever had because I only saw my father a handful of times before he died when I was 7. He was never in my life. I don't even remember what the man looked like. So when my grandfather passed away, I was just numb. That was probably the worst time of my life. Now, that my mom has been sick, I get really scared. She's the only family I have left. My anxiety has returned. Put that on top of everything else I'm dealing with, I'm just numb again, and I feel like I have nowhere to turn. I'm not happy at all. Yes, I have a great job, a boyfriend, a nice place to live, and so many things going for me, but I'm 26 and this is not how I imagined life would be at 26. Married or not married, that doesn't matter. Marriage and babies do no equal happiness. You have to be content with yourself first. I feel like I'm just existing, and that I'm not really living.

I've become angry, jealous, and bitter lately. Three traits that I hate more than anything. I see so many people getting married and having babies, and I ask God why? Why can't that be me? What have I done? What am I missing? Growing up, I always imagined getting married at a young age and at least having a child or two by now. I thought that was the normal. I thought that's what you're supposed to do. That's your purpose in life. Now I'm 26 and thinking, will that ever be? Will I ever get married? Will I ever be a mom? I know I'm still young, and I still have so much life left to live, but I still wonder these things. My best friend that I grew up with just celebrated her 5th wedding anniversary. Another good friend will be celebrating her 5th anniversary in a few weeks. I'm so incredibly happy for them, and I'm happy that they're happy. But again I wonder, why God? What did I do? Why can't that be me? I love my career, and I have such big career goals, but my number one dream is to be a wife and mother. I want that more than anything else. I feel like I've been angry with God for the past few weeks. Why is my mom having to go through this? Why do I feel so unhappy? What do I need to do? Why can't I achieve my dreams? I feel like I need so many answers, and I have none. Ultimately, I have no idea where to go from here. More than anything, I just want to be happy again. Once again I say, I'm blessed with so many things in my life, but I can't help that I feel this way.

To all of you who have encouraged me to publish this post, thank you. I don't think I could have done it without you. If you're new to my blog, I promise I'm not always like this. However, this is my blog, and I have to keep it real on here. If you've seen my depressing tweets on Twitter, I'm sorry. There are times I feel like I don't know who to talk to. I don't like bothering people with my problems. There's more to my story, but I don't want to put anyone on blast. If you have questions, please feel free to ask, and I will respond back. I would just prefer to do it privately.

It's OK Thursday

Hey lovelies! So, this is my first time blogging since Sunday. That's pretty sad! I honestly haven't had a free moment since Sunday morning. I've missed y'all!

Linking up with Neely and Amber because today is the day where everything is OK!

Its Ok Thursdays

IT'S OK....

To be so behind on blogging lately. You don't even want to see my Reader right now! Insanity.

To be going through a major issue right now that sadly I can't blog about. It makes me sad because I feel like I need the support of my blog family, but I just don't want my IRL people knowing. What's a girl to do?

To be happy that my mom's appointment with the kidney specialist went very well. It also made me feel better to know that he lived in Birmingham and was at UAB for awhile. I trust the hospitals there so much more than here. Maybe because I was born there? I don't know.

To be excited that there is only one week and a couple of days until I am in the ATL!

To be so burnt out on school. I gotta keep moving along though.

To wish it could stay in the 70s all year long. This 95 degree heat for the past few days has been brutal. This coming from the girl who lived in Alabama for 18 years. Shouldn't I be used to this by now?

To be excited that a new frozen yogurt place opened up right down the street from my apartment! I think I'll be trying it out very soon!

To be thinking about finding another place to rent once my lease is up in October. I've lived in this apartment for 3 years, and it's really gone downhill. However, I want to stay in the same location.

To want to crash the Georgia blogger meetup! haha! I love those girls! I'm not really close to many NC bloggers. Maybe just a couple?

To end this blog so I can go do my hair before my lunch hour is over, and I have to return to work!

Hope y'all are having an amazing week, and I promise to do better with this whole blogging thing!

Friday's Letters 6/15

Happy Friday, lovelies! We made it! I swear this week has felt so long. I'm ready for a little R&R this weekend. I've decided that I'm going to use this weekend to do a bit of spring (errrr... summer) cleaning. Plus, I need to get caught up on some homework. I'm going to take advantage of the alone time. Now it's time to write some letters!

Photobucket

Dear Followers of Everyday Enchanted, Y'all are awesome! I can't believe I hit 100 yesterday! Exciting! :) I'm definitely excited about where this blog is going. It's nothing fancy, just my life. I'm flattered that y'all care enough to follow along on my journey.

Dear Apartment, I'm sorry I have neglected you lately. I promise I will spend some time this weekend making you all pretty and inviting.

Dear Jake Owen, Why do you have to be so hot? Your voice makes me melt. Even though "Alone With You" has been out for a long while, I still can't get enough of it. Favorite line: Your body's like a pill I shouldn't take.

Dear Macroeconomics, I hate you. I'm sorry, but it's the truth. I am so looking forward to August, so I don't have to spend any more time with you.

Dear Chick-Fil-A, Thank you for serving Chicken Mini's. I'm slightly addicted. Also, I wouldn't mind if you served them all day since I'm not really a morning person. Just throwing it out there.

Dear Amber Portwood, I seriously hope that 5 year prison sentence does you some good. I'm seriously worried about you, and I feel bad for your daughter.

Dear thick hair of mine, I'm sorry I haven't made you all pretty in the past week. Pulling it up has been an easier option for this crazy week. I know you were happy to get some TLC this morning :) (And I think I have officially lost my mind since I just wrote to my hair...)

Dear DVR, I plan to spend some time with you this weekend. There are a bunch of new shows I recorded this week such as "The Choice" and "Kendra on Top". Hope they don't disappoint!

Dear blog followers (again), Hope y'all have an amazing weekend!

It's OK Thursday

Its Ok Thursdays

Happy Thursday, y'all! Not gonna lie, I've had a rough day. I feel like I need a vacation from my life. I'm glad today is "It's OK Thursday" because I feel like I need justification. So here we go!

IT'S OK....

To wish that work days always started at 1:00

To find it completely rude when someone ignores your text

To wish my blog friends lived closer

To be totally confused over everything lately

To wonder if I'm wasting my time

To wish I had something fun to do this weekend. The best friend is going out of town, and my mom is working all weekend. I need girl time bad!!!

To be sad that Teen Mom will be over after this season. I love Maci and Bentley!

To have fallen behind in my classes this week due to everything going on. Time to catch up tonight!

To pre-order the new life planner from Erin Condren. I couldn't resist!

What's OK with you this week?

Oh, How Pinteresting!

Happy Hump Day, y'all! It's been quite awhile since I've linked up with the lovely Michelle over at The Vintage Apple for Oh, How Pinteresting! Truth is, I spent a few months away from Pinterest. It was a habit I had to break. However, when I bought my iPad a little over a month ago, I found an app and the pinning frenzy resumed. I'm not quite addicted to it as I was, but it's still fun to hop on and find some ideas every once in awhile.

Here are some pins I'm loving this week:

Weekend Anxiety

Happy Monday, y'all! Can't believe it's time to start another week. I apologize for not being able to comment on many blogs lately. I've still been reading every chance I get. My weekend wasn't very good, so I'll share that story with you now.

My mom has been having some health issues for the past couple of months. It all started with some swelling in her feet and legs. However, now it's gotten so bad that she can barely bend her knees. She's had many blood tests, and has been put on water pills, but the swelling has not eased up. Finally, at her doctor's appointment on Friday, they told her to go to the ER because they didn't . She called me at work around 2:30 that afternoon and told me. I broke down. I went to my best friend's office, shut the door, and just cried. My mom is my world. I'm an only child, and my dad has never been a part of my life (that's another long story). As I get older, the fear of losing her becomes more real, and it scares me. It has sent me over the edge in the past couple of months while she's been dealing with her health issues. Anyway, back to the story... My best friend called my manager into her office. I feel bad for him because he's always having to deal with a bunch of emotional women. She told him everything that was going on because I couldn't stop crying. He told me not to worry about work, and that it was alright for me to leave right then. I honestly work for the best people. They always put family before work. Also, Summer (best friend) helped calm me down and told me that she would meet me at the hospital after work.

I got home and my mom got some things together to take to the hospital. We honestly thought she was going to be in there for a few days (which is what her doctor told her, and why I was freaking out). Everyone in the ER was so incredibly nice. They ran some tests, and Summer got there around 6 to sit with me for the remainder of the evening. Around 9:30, the doctor finally came in to give her the test results. She has a condition called nephrotic syndrome. They feel like it should be treatable, but she will need to see a kidney specialist in the next week to see where to go from here. She was released from the hospital around 10, so we went to get something to eat because it had been a long day for both of us.

The hospital and anything medical related scares me to death. The last memory I have of being in a hospital is when my grandfather passed away suddenly in 2006. I get flashbacks from that day, and it has caused me some anxiety issues since then. When I heard my mom would have to go in the hospital, I immediately went back to that awful day. My grandfather was the only father figure I had in my life. We were extremely close, and he helped make me the woman I am today. My world just stopped when he passed away. I was numb for quite awhile after that. Friday, all of those feelings came back, and it was terrible. I'm so thankful for an awesome boyfriend (even though he couldn't physically be there for me, he talked me through it) and a wonderful best friend. It's times like these when you know who your true friends are. Ashley, thank you so much for your tweets, emails, and all of the love you have given me. To the rest of you who sent me sweet messages, thank you so much too! I'm so blessed to have wonderful people in my life.

The next few weeks are going to be quite rough on me. I'm taking care of my mom, maintaining a relationship, working, going to school, etc. I feel like I have the weight of the world on my shoulders. This is why I haven't been blogging as much lately. However, I feel like blogging is helping me get through this, so I'll still be around.

I'm praying and trying to stay as positive as can be. I know the Lord has a plan even if I can't see it right now. Hope y'all have a great week!

The first ever Sunday Social!

Sunday Social

Happy Sunday, y'all! It hasn't been the best weekend for me. If you follow me on Twitter, you already know my mom was sent to the ER Friday night. Thankfully, she was only there for a few hours, and we finally have a diagnosis for her. She will be going to a specialist tomorrow, but I'll talk more about that later. For today, I am linking up with Ashley and Neely for the first Sunday Social! Very excited about this weekend linkup!

This week's questions:

How did you come up with your blog name?
Well, my favorite T. Swift song is "Enchanted". It reminds me of when I met my sweet boyfriend, and it always makes me happy. I added the "Everyday" in front of it because it just sounded good together, plus I was hoping it would give me the incentive to post everyday. We all know how well that's been working out lately ;)

What's your favorite thing about blogging?
The friendships I have made. If not for blogging, I never would have made some of the most amazing friends. Y'all are always there for me.

What is one thing you have discovered because of blogging and now can't live without?
My Erin Condren life planner. I would be lost without that thing. I never would have discovered it had it not been for blogging. I'm so excited for the new one coming out soon!

Facebook or Twitter? Why?
Hands down, Twitter. The conversations are better, it's easier to use, it doesn't get on my nerves on a daily basis, etc.

If one celeb read your blog, who would you want it to be?
Kendra Wilkinson Baskett. Yes, the former girlfriend of Hugh Hefner, who now has her own show with her cute family. I'm sorry, but I just love her. She keeps it real. Plus, she's a sports fanatic like me. I'm convinced we'd be best friends.

What is something you want people to know about your blog?
I'm not into the whole OOTD thing. I'm not a fashionista. I don't dress in the latest trends. So if you're looking for fashion advice, you've come to the wrong place. However, I do love reading the fashion blogs! :)

I'm loving this new linkup! Hope y'all have a wonderful Sunday!

Decisions, Decisions

Happy Wednesday, y'all! I usually link up for "What I'm Loving" on Wednesdays, but today I wanted to share something.

In my post yesterday, I mentioned that I can be very indecisive. I kept thinking about this topic yesterday. This is a common problem among people, but I feel like I take it to another level sometimes. I'm struggling with finding the reason why it's so hard for me to follow my heart. I think some of it comes from the fact that I'm a people-pleaser. I hate saying no to people, I don't like disappointing someone, and it makes me sad when I hear that someone may have a problem with me. This also may be why I can be quiet most of the time. I don't want to say something that offends someone. In life, not everyone is going to like you, and that's perfectly alright. I'm slowly learning to accept that.

Another reason why I have a problem making decisions is because I made some poor choices in my late teens. Again, that's normal when you're a teenager and just starting college. Also, when I moved to NC, my world flipped upside down. I was in a new place where I didn't know many people. I had never lived away from home, let alone another state that was 7 hours away from my hometown. My actions and words disappointed a few people, and I still find it hard to forgive myself for it. However, I know that it's beyond time to let myself off the hook.

I absolutely hate hurting people, but I know that it's inevitable. It's going to happen. That's just life and life just isn't fair. As of now, I'm somewhere in between where I've been and where I want to go. I feel like I've been living in the in between for quite awhile now. *Don't get me wrong, I love the people in my life, I love my job, I love my Business classes, and I love where I live. I'm just to the point where I feel like there's something greater out there for me.* I'm praying that I will be able to make the appropriate decisions when it's time. I just don't want to live with more regret. However, even though I do have some regrets, I know they have made me a stronger person. I wouldn't be where I am today without them.

Decisions are hard, but prayer makes it easier. I know I still have a lot of life to live. I'm going to make good and bad decisions. I just need to get over the fear. Sometimes people aren't going to agree with my decisions, and that's alright too. The Lord will lead me, and I will follow.

Is anyone else out there indecisive? Any thoughts you want to share?

Hope y'all are having a great day!

*Disclaimer: This doesn't have to do with my relationship or my job, so no one freak out on me!

Weekly Gratitude

Hey y'all! Hope all of you are having a great weekend! I decided to take a break from blogging this week which means I haven't been reading or posting. It's been nice to have a bit of a break from social media. I've missed y'all though! Here are some things I'm thankful for this week. * I'm thankful for an amazing boyfriend who takes care of me. He let me drive his car for over a month while he worked on mine. He completely cleaned it (it even has the new car smell), fixed the brake sensor, put in a new battery, took it to have an oil change, and I swear it's running so much better now. He's the best! I love you, J! * I'm thankful that I survived a stressful week of work. I had to take over as supervisor for a couple of days while working on a tedious project. Also had a couple of important meetings. * I'm thankful for good friends who make me smile on a daily basis. I know I can always count on them. What are you thankful for this week? Formatting sucks on my iPad. Sorry! :)
