Oh, How Pinteresting! 11/30

Wow, I can't believe today is the last day of November. This year has flown! It just gets worse as we get older! I wish life would just slow down a bit.

I'm just gearing up for a night of basketball watching. My Tar Heels are playing at 9:30. Hope I can stay awake that long. I also need to finish some Art Appreciation homework. Only 2 more weeks until the end of the semester. That's so hard to believe.

It's Wednesday, so that means I'm linking up with lovely Michelle.

Ten on Tuesday 11/29

Happy Tuesday everyone! It is so cold out today! I'm warming up in front of my fireplace with a hoodie on, the warmest pants I could find, and my favorite kitty cat blanket. I'm about to drink some hot cocoa too. It was so cold in my office today also. I don't think I took my jacket off all day. I passed on lunch at Olive Garden just so I could come home and warm up. That tells ya something right there... hehe! With that said, I do believe my hatred for Winter is coming to an end. I would rather have my fireplace going and sipping hot cocoa or coffee rather than burning up. Also, I love the winter clothes! They're just too cute!

I'm linking up again with Chelsea at Roots and Rings for Ten on Tuesday.

1. Do you wear glasses, contacts, or are you one of those perfect eyed people?
I don't wear glasses or contacts. I haven't been to the eye doctor in a couple of years, but the last time I went, they were perfect. I passed the eye chart exam when I got my license renewed last year, so they can't be that bad :)
2. What is the next item you are going to purchase?
Probably makeup. I'm addicted to all things Sephora, and I'm in "dire" need of some new makeup.
3. Have you ever watched Judge Judy or any other real court show?
I've watched Judge Judy before. It was OK. Nothing that I would watch regularly.
4. How do you feel about fake nails?
I used to have fake nails in high school, but now I stick with the real thing. My nails are pretty healthy.
5. What is your favorite sport to watch?
Basketball. Absolutely love it!
6. If you could create your own Ben & Jerry’s ice cream flavor, what would it be and what would it be named?
Oh gosh. Well, it would most likely have Mint in it. Not sure what I'd combine it with. I'd call it Mint Condition... hehe!
7. Do you have any scars?
Not that I know of.
8. Does your pet’s name fit them? Is there a more appropriate name?
We got my cat Ron from one of my Mom's friends. His name was already Ron, and surprisingly, it fits him. JP named our dog Buddy because we had just finished watching Elf, plus he looked like a Buddy.
9. What is your favorite television show theme song?
The New Girl. It's so catchy... hehe!
10. What was your favorite activity on the playground?
Swinging!

Happy Monday! 11/28

Happy Monday everyone! It was rough going back to work after a long weekend. It was especially rough since I absolutely could not sleep last night. I wasn't sleepy, but I decided I had better get in bed at midnight. However, that wasn't such a good idea. I don't think I fell asleep until 2:30. It was awful! Needless to say, I've been very sleepy all day.

It was difficult getting back into the swing of things at work, but I did accomplish quite a bit. I have a deadline coming up on Friday, so I'm trying to wrap that project up. I had lunch with the bestie and one of my co-workers at Rancho Viejo. Yummy Mexican food!

Before I left work for the day, I made my cube somewhat festive for Christmas. It's only a cute little silver tree, and a purple ornament box of Kleenex, but hey... I don't have much to work with here... hehe! You can also see my Sid the Sloth collection and a My Little Pony that JP gave me a few years ago. Also, my cute little cooler that keeps my drinks cold during the work day.

I also hung up a pic of JP and I from last Christmas.

I also added a couple of Christmas stations to my Pandora since it is now appropriate to do so! :)

Did anyone else take advantage of Cyber Monday besides me? I bought this adorable puffer vest and turquoise thermal shirt. Even though Aeropostale is mostly geared towards teens, you can find some really cute stuff on the site.

I also bought a new camera for my Mom for Christmas. I got a great deal! Saved about $70. Go me!

Hope all of you had a fabulous day! :)

Day 1: Fabulous Holiday Blog Challenge

Fabulous Holiday Blog Challenge

Today is Day 1 of the 10 Day Fabulous Holiday Blog Challenge!

Today's topic: Favorite Gift Received EVER

Hmmm... I really had to think about this one. My favorite gift received would probably be my first laptop. The ol' Gateway! I received it during my 1st year of college back in 2003. I had been wanting a laptop for about a year, and I remember my surprise and the excitement I had when I opened it up that Christmas morning.  I had begged my Mom for months! I believe that laptop is what started my great love for all things technological. Fast forward 8 years, and I work at a software company... hehe!

I've been through 3 laptops since then, but I will always remember that Gateway! :)

Thanksgiving Weekend

It's so hard to believe that the Thanksgiving weekend is coming to an end. I'm kinda sad because Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday next to Christmas of course. I love spending time with family, eating, having some time off work, and of course giving thanks for another year. I do know that this next month is sure to be a busy one... tons of deadlines at work, finishing up fall semester, Christmas parties, etc. So now for a little Thanksgiving recap...

Thursday
I drove to JP's house that morning to watch the Macy's Parade with JP, his mom, and his sister. The 3 women of the family always watch the parade every year, but this year I convinced JP to come up and watch it with us. Yes, after 6 years, I was finally successful! :) I was a bit disappointed in the parade this year. It seemed to be just like last year's. After the parade, JP's mom fixed pancakes for breakfast which is another Thanksgiving tradition. Afterwards, we all got ready to head down to Charlotte (about an hour and a half drive from JP's) for Thanksgiving dinner. We always have Thanksgiving at JP's aunt and uncle's house. The family has grown a bit in the past 7 years since I've been around. JP's cousin got married a couple of years ago and they have 2 kids, so now we have 11 people around the table. We love getting to play with the kids who are 6 and 2. I just love seeing JP with them. He likes to play it off that he's not a big fan of children, but I know deep down he loves them. All you have to do is watch him with them. :) Another tradition is that JP and I always play basketball with JP's uncle before dinner, and I'm always ridiculously sore the day afterwards. I could barely move on Friday and that's pretty sad! Can we say Cori needs to get back in shape... like yesterday? Thanksgiving was a blast! We got home, fed our sweet fur baby, and called it a night. I fell asleep right when my head hit the pillow.

Friday
Friday was more of a low-key day. Thank goodness because we both needed it! JP woke up with a bad headache, so he went back to bed. I proceeded to catch up on some blogs and watch some football (LSU-Arkansas). Well, JP got up during the 2nd half and was feeling much better, but then I started feeling bad. I was achy and just not feeling well. He is so sweet to me when I'm feeling bad. He brought me some Gatorade, some water, and a snack. He takes such good care of me! Then we watched National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation which is a staple during the holidays. We can quote the whole movie, and one year, we even watched it every day the whole month of December. After the movie, I watched Gold Rush with him. I wasn't a huge fan of it, but he loves that show. When I'm away from him, I miss the every day things we used to do together. In the beginning of our relationship, I pretty much lived with him. Of course I had my place, but I spent every day with him. I think because we spent SO much time together in the beginning, we lost a lot of who we were as individuals. When I moved to another town 2 years ago, we weren't together for awhile. It was a HUGE change for us, and it affected us greatly. However, we learned to cope and learned how to adapt to the change. We don't get to see each other as often, but I think we are much better for it. It makes both of us appreciate the little things and the time that we do have together. Also, we both re-discovered our individual goals and talents. I just loved the time we had together this weekend!

Saturday
Saturday morning, we woke up and both got ready for the day. He decided to go shopping with his family, and I went to go spend the day watching football with my Mom. She was working of course, but she got permission to have me over to watch the games. It was great to spend time with her and play with the baby. My Seminoles even got a win! Woohoo! I'm kinda sad that I won't get to see them play again for another month, but until then, I have basketball... haha! Anyway, we ordered pizza and had a great time. I started feeling bad again though. I had to take some medicine which made me pretty sleepy, but I made it through.

Today
I've been doing a bunch of nothing! I watched my Lady Vols play this afternoon. They lost :(  But it's ok. I've been catching up on a bunch of blogs and catching up on some shows I have on the DVR. I rarely have time to watch anything during the week, so I DVR a ton of stuff! I watched the Ice Age Christmas special that was shown on Thursday. I am obsessed with all things Sid the Sloth and Ice Age... Oh and yes, I know I am 25. My sweet kitty even watched it with me! Obviously, I sucked at taking pics this weekend. I think it was mostly because I wasn't feeling well. Hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Fill in the Blank Friday

Happy Friday everyone!

Right now, I'm lounging on the sofa while catching up on some blogs. I have yet to write a post about my Thanksgiving, but that will be coming soon.
JP is in bed with a headache, so I'm just letting him rest. Hopefully, he will be up soon because I would LOVE to go get something to eat.

Anyway, I am linking up with the fabulous Lauren at The Little Things We Do for Fill in the Blank Friday.

1.   Waking up at the break of dawn to go shopping is my idea of  torture. I would rather sleep in on a day off from work. Plus, I hate crowds.

2.   If I were to go shopping today I would be on the hunt for  cute sweaters or a digital camera for my Mom.

3.  The best thing I ate yesterday was  turkey and dressing. JP's aunt did a fabulous job. Yum!

4. Something I've been learning lately is  it's OK to make time for myself. Blogging is an example. I love taking the time for myself to do something that I truly enjoy.

5.  I cannot start my day without  some kind of caffeine. I haven't had any yet today, so maybe that's why I'm feeling out of sorts.

6.  My nighttime attire consists of  shorts or PJ pants. Long-sleeve or short-sleeve T-shirt. Just depends on the time of year.

7.  I am looking forward to  football watching with my Momma tomorrow! I love the rivalry games!

Black Wednesday?

Happy Thanksgiving Eve everyone! Tonight is my last night at home for a bit. Tomorrow morning, I am leaving to go to JP's for a couple of days. It'll be nice to spend a couple of days together. It's been forever since we've been able to do that. We're busy busy people! Him and his family went to Winston to shop today. I swear that boy shops way more than I do! I was invited to go along, but I decided to spend time with my Mom and go shopping with her instead. She leaves tomorrow to go work for a few days.

I tried sleeping in this morning, but there are some kids who live in an apartment on the floor above mine who made that really difficult. For some reason, they decide to go play outside every morning. It just so happens that right outside my bedroom window is the perfect area for them to play. It usually doesn't bother me because I'm getting ready for work at that time, but I was trying to get a little extra sleep in. I ended up turning on my TV to drown them out and fell asleep for a little while longer.

My Mom and I ended up shopping at Bath and Body Works, Bed Bath and Beyond, Kohl's, and Target. We found some great stuff! I got a sweater for 50% off + I got an extra 20% off, so I ended up only spending $12 for a really nice sweater. I also got a couple of beautiful picture albums that were 50% off. I called JP to tell him about my wonderful finds. He was just like "oh geez". He knows I love a good picture album! I just never have time to get all of my pictures organized. Honestly, I still have pictures on our camera from 2008! Terrible, I know. I also found a couple of Tervis tumblers. One is UNC and the other is pink and black with polka dots and has the letter C. Oh, and we also found some K-cups for our Keurig. I'm so excited to try out the Pumpkin Spice and White Chocolate Peppermint! I bought some great stuff for my Mom's stocking that she's been wanting. I also bought a Christmas card for my Secret Santa in the Holly Jolly Swap! I'm so excited to shop for her and send her the gifts.

I'm glad that I decided to go shopping today instead of Friday. There weren't too many people out shopping. There were crowds, but NOTHING like it will be on Friday. I also didn't have to wait in line anywhere. It was great! I only need to order one more thing for my Mom's present and then buy JP's presents. I will be done after that!

I'm all settled in now with my warm kitty cat blanket. It was my Grandma's favorite blanket, so obviously, it's my favorite too... hehe! I'm about to watch the ABC comedies which look to be hilarious tonight! I may be a little scarce over the next couple of days since I will be with my love. I'll try to pop in though if time allows and hopefully be able to catch up on some blogs over this long weekend.

Hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving with family and friends!

Ten on Tuesday 11/22

Well, the day that I have been looking forward to for so long has come... No more work until Monday! 5 whole days off. However, I'll probably be needing a vacation from my vacation. I have a ton of things planned for the next few days. I'm planning on sleeping in tomorrow though before my Mom and I go shopping. I need at least one day of not getting up before 10!

It's time for Ten on Tuesday. As always, I'm linking up with Chelsea from Roots and Rings

1. What are you doing for Thanksgiving this year?
We will be sticking with tradition and going to JP's aunt and uncle's house with the rest of the fam. Already had Thanksgiving with my Mom! :)

2. What are you most thankful for this year?
There is SO much to be thankful for! Love, family, friends, great job, etc.

3. Do you have any traditions on Thanksgiving? The parade? Football? Long naps?
I watch the Macy's Parade with JP's mom and sister every year.

4. Is it called stuffing or dressing? Is it in the bird or a separate dish?
Dressing. I've also called it stuffing before though.

5. Do you cook?
That's funny... I don't think anyone would want me cooking Thanksgiving dinner! :)

6. What is your favorite dish?
Dressing

7. What is your dessert preference?
Pumpkin pie!

8. What is your favorite Thanksgiving memory?
When I was 10, our family went to Gatlinburg for Thanksgiving. We had a great dinner and had a lot of fun!

9. Do you plan to shop on Black Friday?
Nope! I tried shopping on Black Friday for a couple of years, but I just don't like waiting in lines or the crowds. I blame it on my claustrophobia.

10. What are you most dreading about Thanksgiving this year?
Having to get up really early especially since it will be a long day. I don't like that part.

Thanksgiving Numero Uno

Happy Monday everyone! At least it doesn't feel like a Monday since there are only 2 work days this week. Hallelujah! I love my job, but I love some rest and time with family too! I never get to see much of JP's family now since I'm so wrapped up in school and work. It'll be nice to spend a couple of days with them and my love too of course!

I didn't really do much this weekend. Caught up on some homework, and watched some football on Saturday of course. None of my teams won (Florida State, Oregon, Oklahoma State) so that was a bummer. I watched the UNC basketball game with JP yesterday, but really, that's about it for my weekend.

Tonight, I had Thanksgiving #1 with my Momma! She'll be gone to work Thursday-Monday, so we went ahead and had our Thanksgiving tonight. She's a nanny for a sweet baby girl who is 10 months old. Such a rewarding job, and I know it's hard for her to think of it as a job. So anyway... here is what I had for Thanksgiving!

Thanksgiving dinner consisted of turkey (which is hiding under the green beans), green beans, my Mom's awesome mashed potatoes, macaroni and cheese, stuffing, and five cup salad. Five cup salad is a Thanksgiving and Christmas tradition in my family. It consists of coconut, cherries, mandarin oranges, marshmallows, and sour cream all mixed together. I swear y'all, it is the best thing ever! JP was a trooper one year and tried it. He said it wasn't terrible, but he's not a big fan of coconut or cherries so that kinda killed it for him.

Ron (my Mom's cat) kept smelling the turkey and kept bothering us while we ate. Had to put him up for awhile, but after we ate, we cut up some turkey for him to eat. He couldn't be left out of Thanksgiving! :)

My Patriots are playing tonight! Definitely have to drink out of the Patriots cup during every game!

Don't you just love my messy end table? haha! I keep everything on that table. Allergy meds, headphones, nail file/buffer, sticky notes, etc.

Well, I guess that is it for today. Getting ready to enjoy some pumpkin pie for dessert!  Oh and before I forget, I FINALLY ordered my Erin Condren planner. I am so excited! Even though you can't tell from my messy end table, I love organization!

Happy Friday!

Happy Friday everyone! It's been a busy day for me. We had our company Thanksgiving luncheon at our corporate office in Charlotte today. Since we have so many people who are new to the company, it was fun to finally meet them. In the 4 years that I've been with the company, we have grown so much. I'm so happy with where we are now. There have been a bunch of changes in the past month, but I know that they are all for the best. Anyway, we had lots of good food. Also, we found out that we are going bowling for our Christmas party in a few weeks. That will be fun... especially since I haven't bowled in 10 years. I told my bestie that we need to go practice... haha!
After the lunch ended at 1:00, we were told that we could have the rest of the day off. That was so nice! We got back to the office at 2:30, and I went to go pay some bills and buy some groceries for Thanksgiving. My mom and I are having Thanksgiving on Wednesday since she has to work all Thanksgiving weekend. Then, I will go have Thanksgiving with JP's family on Thursday. I love having multiple Thanksgivings... haha! So much good food!
Well, now it is time for Five Question Friday. I'm linking up with Mama M. at My Little Life

1. Do you have a go to song that always puts you in a good mood?
I've Gotta Feeling - BEP. Brings back good memories and always puts me in a good mood. No matter how overplayed it may be now, it takes me back to a certain time.

2. Are you a real Christmas tree kinda person or do you go with a real fake one?
When I was growing up, we had a real tree one year. It was so much work and left pine needles all over the place. Needless to say, I'm a fake tree kind of girl.

3. What are you thankful for?
There is SO much to be thankful for! Jesus, life, family, love, friends, job, apartment, car, etc. I could go on and on.

4. Which fashion fad from the past do you wish you could wear today?
Hmmm... I'm not sure really. I'm comfortable with what I wear now.

5. Do you wait until the "low fuel" light comes on before you fill up the gas tank?
No I definitely don't. That's one of my fears... running out of gas and being stuck on the side of the road. I always fill up when I'm above the red line.

 Next up is....

I'm linking up with Lauren at The Little Things We Do
1.   A nervous habit I have is  I bite the inside of my lower lip. It's awful, and I need to quit.

2.   Something that makes me sad is  hearing about the horrible plane crash which took the lives of Oklahoma State's women's basketball head coach and assistant coach. Praying for their families. I'm a huge Oklahoma State fan. Long story of how I became one.

3.  Today I am thankful for   the great job that I have. My co-workers are pretty fabulous, and I love being a data analyst. Even when I get my teaching degree, I'm not sure if I could ever tear myself away from that place.

4. My favorite room in my house is    my living room. I love my sofa, my fireplace, my TV... I love it all.

5.  I can't stand   inconsiderate people.

6.  If I had an extra $100 to spend on whatever I wanted today I would    use most of it to buy an Erin Condren planner. Mark my words... by the end of this year, I will have one.

7.  The last person I hung out with was   my Mom when we went grocery shopping.

So ready for the weekend!

Since I'm watching my fave show of the week (The Big Bang Theory) and I have a ton of homework to finish tonight, I leave you with this pic that had me laughing so hard last night.

Tomorrow is our Thanksgiving luncheon at work. It's at our corporate office which is an hour away. Hopefully, there will be some yummy food! Hope you've had a fabulous Thursday!

Oh, How Pinteresting!

Happy Wednesday! Made it half way through the week! Didn't think I was going to make it this morning though... Last night when I came home from work, my throat was killing me and I was feeling really achy. So, I took some medicine and lounged around all night. I woke up this morning and was still feeling pretty bad. Thankfully, once I got ready and started to work, I was starting to feel a little better. I definitely didn't want to take a personal day since I want to use them for the holidays.

Now I'm just reading some blogs and watching the ABC comedies. I absolutely love The Middle, Modern Family, and Happy Endings. I'm not really impressed with Suburgatory which is why I'm posting in my blog at the moment.

It's Wednesday, so that means it's time for....

Tuesdays feel like Mondays

Happy Tuesday everyone! I swear Mondays are usually MUCH better for me than Tuesdays. I'm not feeling as motivated as I was yesterday... haha! I woke up late with a scratchy throat this morning. No fun! However, I've made it through the day, and I'm about to have some pizza for dinner. Yum! My agenda for the evening is to eat pizza, watch some basketball, read some blogs, and call it a night. Sounds like a good plan to me! :)

Now on to the Ten on Tuesday. Once again, I'm linking up with Chelsea at Roots and Rings.

1. What are your pantry staples?
Pasta, pasta sauce, Kraft mac and cheese (must have on hand at all times), canned veggies/tomato products, cereal, snacks, breakfast food (Special K bars, muffins, pop-tarts).
2. What are your refrigerator staples?
Milk, yogurt, eggs, cheese, Propel Zero, Coke Zero, Deer Park water, Diet Mtn Dew, barbecue sauce.
3. You already look like Heidi Klum (or your favorite supermodel). Now, what are the top three non-physical things you would change about yourself?
My procrastination issues, be more outgoing, wouldn't worry as much.
4. What’s holding you back from your dream job? (If you already have your dream job, how did you get there?)
2.5 more years of schooling. I'm slowly getting there.
5. You have $500 to spend but it has to be on one item only. Go.
It would go towards some Apple product. iPad, MacPro, etc.
6. What is something that you are embarrassed to admit you buy on a regular basis?
I honestly don't know. Nothing I buy is embarrassing. At least not to me.
7. What’s in/on your bed every night?
Me, my awesome new purple flannel sheets (thank you, Mo!), my Sloth pillow, an extra pillow (have to sleep with 2 pillows at all times), my Tinkerbell blanket that matches my new sheets perfectly (yes I'm a kid at heart, but that is the warmest freakin blanket!), and you can pretty much find Ron (my cat) sleeping with me every night. I think that's why my allergies are so bad at times, but I love that cat!
8. What is a non-necessity item that, no matter how expensive it gets or how tight your budget is, you will always find room for it?
Books for my Kindle. I have to have a good book at all times.
9. What is the weirdest sandwich you’ve ever made?
I can't think of a weird sandwich I've had. I'm not much of a sandwich lover, plus I'm a very picky eater. So if it's weird, I probably don't eat it.
10. Would you rather: Be banned from Pinterest forever, but gain a million captive Twitter followers; or, never get on Facebook again but gain five thousand blog readers?
I have my Twitter settings set to Private, so you have to send a request to follow me (Follow me if you'd like). Therefore, I don't get many followers, nor do I care. I'm gonna go with never get on Facebook again but gain five thousand blog readers. I'd LOVE more blog readers, even though I'm kinda addicted to Facebook. I don't post THAT much on there, but I'm nosy as heck so I have to see what everyone is up to! haha!
