What I'm Loving: 4/25

Happy Wednesday y'all! I'm linking up with the lovely Jamie over at This Kind of Love for What I'm Loving Wednesday. Here's what I'm loving this week!

I'm loving the fact that it's the last week of April. May is my favorite month.

I'm loving that I only have a week of school left! I'm looking forward to my 3 week break.

I'm loving that my tax refund showed up in my bank account a couple of days ago. The extra money is definitely needed. J and I are planning on buying a queen size bed with it! He has a full size bed, and I have a daybed. The bed will stay at my apartment, and I will sleep on it until we move in together. I'm kinda excited since it's our first big purchase together for our future home. We bought a 42 inch TV a few years back that stays at his place. That's when we were pretty much living together.

I'm loving the fact that our anniversary is next weekend!

I'm loving J's car...but y'all already know that, haha!

I'm loving the conversation that J and I had last night about our future. So much excitement! Is it normal to be this excited when you don't even have a ring on your finger yet?

I'm loving Carrie Underwood's new CD. I listened to it on iTunes today, and I can't wait to get it next week! I can relate to so many songs on it.

I'm loving my Braves and Rangers! They both picked up great wins last night!

I'm loving the $50 credit I won from Kiki La 'Rue, thanks to the great giveaway that Kristen hosted. I'm ready to do some shopping! If you haven't checked this shop out, you definitely need to. Such cute clothes!

I'm loving that for the first time ever, I do not have to take any finals this semester. I guess my teachers don't believe in finals, not that I'm complaining!

Lately

Hey y'all! Life is super busy right now. I have 2 more weeks of school until I have to go back for summer semester on May 28th. Well, I say "go back", but I am only taking online classes. Thank God! Work is busy as always. It's beginning to slow down a tad though which is good. Hopefully I'll have some time to catch my breath again. I decided to give y'all a little update about what's been going on lately....bullet point style!

  • My car is currently being worked on by my smart and handsome boyfriend. He's going to try to fix it himself first in order to save some cash. If there's a huge problem, then he'll take it to our car guy. In the meantime, I love driving his car! I wish we could permanently switch!
  • Speaking of my wonderful man, we had a fun date on Sunday. We had dinner at our favorite Mexican restaurant and then went to see American Reunion. Such a funny movie! However, he thought it would be cute to start singing along to all the 90's tunes during the movie. I kept putting my hand over his mouth. He's crazy.
  • I ended up telling him what I got him for our anniversary because I needed his input. He didn't mind though! I have no clue what he's getting me, but he insists that I will definitely be surprised. I'm so excited for our anniversary! Only 2 more weeks!
  • Yesterday, I spent the day with my co-workers in High Point. Usually, we just work behind the scenes which means we don't have to go to Market. Yesterday we  got to work in "sales". I say that because that's what the pass we had to wear said, haha! It was interesting to see all our hard work paying off. It was also fun to get out of the office for a day. I never thought I'd work in the furniture industry for 1 year much less 6 years. I grow to love it more and more!
  • I hurt my foot yesterday while walking at Market. It's feeling a bit better today. I made sure I wore comfy shoes to work today.
  • The Braves have lost their last 2 games. That doesn't make me very happy. Come on, guys!

Well, that's what has been going on lately. I gained a few new followers over the weekend! That always makes me happy. Hope y'all are having a wonderful week!

Who's Your Doppleganger

A Mommas Desires and Pacifiers

I'm linking up with Raven for Who's Your Doppleganger? I've been reading these posts all week, and some of them have been quite hilarious. I figured I'd join in on the fun. I've never really been compared to any celebrities before. I'm just glad that I didn't get a guy as my doppleganger because I've seen some people get 4 guys! So crazy! So who do I look like? Let's find out!

Drew Barrymore? Eh, I'm not seeing it. I love Elisha Cuthbert, so I was pleased with that one. Shania Twain? Interesting. I'm not really sure who Juliette Lewis is. I'm also not seeing the Evan Rachel Wood resemblance. Like I said though, I'm just glad I didn't get a guy!

Here's what I got for my second time around.

These are so random! Sarah Jessica Parker? Meryl Streep? Madonna? I'm not seeing it. Kinda cool to be compared to Madonna though, haha!

I don't think I look like any of these people, but I gotta admit, this was fun!

Hope y'all are having a great weekend! I'm feeling better today, but I woke up with my right eye swollen shut. I can open it now and it's not hurting as bad, but it still feels odd. I hate you, allergies!

Five Question Friday: 4/20

1. Groceries are high right now what is easiest way you have found to cut back?

I use coupons as much as I can. That's about all you can do.

2. What are the top 3 things on your "bucket list"?

Get married, own a home, and get my MBA.

3. Would you rather give up AC or heat?

I'd rather give up heat. You can always get another blanket (I own around 20, no joke) or put on more clothes. You can only take off so many clothes! Plus, I can't sleep when it's hot.

4. What's your favorite cocktail?

Sex on the beach or a margarita.

5. What was your first job & how old were you?

I worked at my church's daycare during the summer when I was 15. That was my first paying job.

Making this short and sweet tonight since I'm not feeling well. I had to take another sick day at work. My allergies are KILLING me this spring. I was running a low grade fever this morning which is pretty bad for me since my normal temp is around 97.6. However, I'm not running a fever now, and I'm feeling a bit better. Hope y'all have a great weekend!

It's OK Thursday: 4/19

Its Ok Thursdays

It's Thursday! Thank you sweet baby Jesus! Thankfully, this week has gone by rather fast. I guess that happens when you have one of the busiest weeks ever. I feel like I haven't had much time to breathe, much less post or read any blogs. Today, I'm linking up with Neely and Amber. So here we go!

IT'S OK...

That yoga almost killed me Monday night since it had been 2 weeks since my last class. Can't believe we only have 5 more classes!

That the Braves and Rangers have been absolutely awesome over the past week! Keep it going, boys!

That I FINALLY got to see my love last night. He gave me a pretty necklace that he bought me while he was in FL. I was sad that I didn't get any kisses though. He's been sick for the last week, and with the end of the semester and work being crazy, I just don't have time to be sick!

That I'm only taking 2 classes during the summer, one being Macroeconomics. Lord, help me! I took Microecon just before I took a year long break from school. Yes, I'm a Business major, but Economics just confuses the heck out of me. Since I only have 2 semesters of school left, I had to bite the bullet and take it. At least I'll only have to survive 2 months of it instead of 4!

That I get to drive J's car for the week while he takes mine to get fixed! We both have VW's, but his is a 2 door and 4 years newer than mine. Plus, his is a Turbo. Love that speed! My mood has been much better today since I haven't had to deal with my wacko car. It took me 15 minutes to start it after class last night. Ridiculous!

That I had a dream that I got yelled at for not meeting a deadline at work. I woke up feeling scared that I was going to get fired. I always meet my deadlines! This is how bad that work has consumed me over the past couple of weeks. Gotta love Market time!

That my mom surprised me with a blueberry pie yesterday because she knew I had a bad day. She's the best!

That I cried over every little thing yesterday. That's just what happens when Flo comes to town...

That every time I'm at J's house, I forget that Buddy is not there. I still think he'll be out there waiting for me to drive up. I miss our baby! :(

What's OK with y'all this week?

Miscellany Monday: 4/16

Happy Monday! Hope all of you had a fabulous weekend! Mine was great! The sleep was much needed. Hopefully it will last me a few days. J is finally back from FL, so I'm definitely excited about that. He was sick for most of his trip though, and he's still recovering. That means I have to deal with my ghetto car for a bit longer, but that's alright. He needs his rest! Today, I'm linking up at Lowercase Letters for Miscellany Monday.

1. Tonight, I make my return back to yoga. I'm a little nervous since it's been almost 2 weeks since our last class. I don't really want to find another yoga class to go to once the semester is over since I have enough classes to worry about. I'd like to find a good yoga DVD or something along those lines though. Anyone know of any?

2. I'm getting so excited about our Atlanta trip even though it's not until the first week of July. The first night we're there will actually be J's birthday. It'll be fun celebrating his birthday there! Plus, having a week off from work will be amazing! I think that's what I'm looking forward to the most. Also, spending a few uninterrupted days with J will be fabulous!

3. I honestly can't believe that I'll be turning 26 in 3 weeks. We will also be celebrating our 7th anniversary. Our anniversary is the day before my birthday. I'm looking forward to that weekend. I'm also excited about surprising him with his anniversary gift.

On our 6th anniversary. I love how we're color coordinating.Excuse the no make-up.

4. Chobani's Vanilla Chocolate Chunk yogurt is amazing. Enough said.

Hope y'all have an amazing week! The countdown to the weekend has begun!

Happy Friday! 4/13

Happy Friday everyone! This has been the LONGEST week. I'm looking forward to Sunday when J makes his way back home. I've missed him! I have big plans to sleep, watch the Braves, clean my apartment, and have some time with Netflix. I may squeeze a girls night out with the best friend sometime too. Depends on if we're too tired or not, haha! Hope y'all have a great weekend!

Today, I'm linking up with Lauren for Fill in the Blank Friday.

1. Today is a good day because  it's Friday! I've been looking forward to this day all week. More so than usual.

2. The best thing I did all week was   figuring out how to fix my car until J gets home. However, it is a pain having to deal with that every day.

3. The current weather is  sunny  and it makes me feel  very happy.

4. The best thing about spring is   flowers blooming, baseball season, my birthday, and mine and J's anniversary.  I love Spring!

5. A fashion trend that I'm dying to try out for spring is   either something mint, or color blocking.

6. A person who made me smile this week was   baby A. She's so cute!

7. The most delicious thing I ate all week was   the new grilled chicken parmesan at Olive Garden last night. Amazing!

It's OK Thursday 4/12

Happy Thursday everyone! I'm linking up for It's OK Thursday, but I'm going to be doing things differently today. There's one major thing that's been on my mind that I've been feeling a little guilty about, and since "It's OK" today, I'm giving myself a break. It's OK to be feeling what I'm feeling. You ready? Here we go....

Its Ok Thursdays

IT'S OK....

To not be completely thrilled with the idea of taking J's last name when we get married. There, I said it. I feel a little bit relieved to get that out in the open now. His last name's not very common, and I'm not a huge fan of it. I also think it sounds kinda strange with my first name. Every time we go out to eat, I always use my name when we have to wait to be seated. I feel like I'm being very selfish. There's no doubt in my mind that I will take his last name when we get married. To me, it's not even a choice. However, I want to keep my maiden name as my middle name which will mean dropping my current middle name which I also love. I definitely don't want 2 middle names. That's out of the question. My name is way too long as it is right now. At least his last name is short! Has anyone else felt like this? Were you sad when you changed your name? Do/did you have any emotional attachment to your maiden name? Am I just being crazy?

To be 15 minutes late for work when you're having car issues. Hopefully, I won't get in trouble for it. A girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do when it comes to fixing her car on her own.

To love hearing stories about J's trip when we talk every night. He's been having a blast with his cousin's children who are 7 and 3. J has never been a huge fan of children, but he's changed his tune in the past year. He'll never admit it though! ;)

To take a Tylenol PM when you haven't slept well in a week. I only have to take 1 because 2 would knock me out for a couple of days. I was so happy to finally get some sleep last night!

To be excited about having dinner at Olive Garden with my mom tonight!

To be ready for another vacation when I just came home from one.

Hope everyone's having a great day! :)

What I'm Loving 4/11

Happy Wednesday! This is a late post for me since I haven't had time to write today. I feel like I'm getting more and more behind with this whole blogging thing. I know y'all understand though! I've been horrible with replying to your comments. I appreciate all of them though, and I will eventually respond. It's just taking me forever! Since it's Wednesday, I'm linking up for What I'm Loving. It's been a tough week. At least this helps me remember to count my blessings every week.

I'm loving that I'm on Spring Break this week. It's been nice to come home every night and not have to worry about going to class or having to do homework.

I'm loving that we're so busy at work right now. It keeps my mind off of things.

I'm loving that I figured out how to temporarily fix my car problem until J gets back from his vacation. The same day that he left for FL, my car decided to get stuck in Park. I mean it would not budge! Luckily, I remembered all of the VW forums that J has told me about, and I found a way to get it out of Park. It's not easy, and it takes me a good 2-3 minutes to get it out of Park every time I have to go somewhere. However, it's better than not having a car to drive for a week! Usually when I have to take my car to the shop, J gives me his car to drive to work and school since he works from home. Since he's gone though, I don't have his keys to go get his! That's been my big stress of the week.

I'm loving the fact that I'll get a weekend of rest. I haven't had much sleep in the past week. This weekend is definitely needed! I wish I could fast forward to Friday at 5:00.

I'm loving Smash! That show has sucked me, and I'm so happy that they renewed it for a 2nd season. Since Glee got really weird, this is a good substitute. I love the story lines!

I'm loving that the Braves finally won their first game last night. I was starting to get a little worried. It was Chipper's first game back! I think we're a different team with him playing. I'm gonna miss him next year!

I'm loving the fact that it hasn't rained in a few days. I love all the sunshine even if it has been a bit cooler this week. I'd take sunshine and temps in the 50's any day over rain.

I'm loving my sweet boyfriend, and I can't wait until he's in the same state as I am!

Hope y'all are having a great week!

Sneak peak of my vacation!

Hi lovelies! Did ya miss me? I missed y'all! I returned home from Myrtle Beach around 7:30 last night. We had the best time! I plan to recap the whole vacation tomorrow, so be watching for that! I would have done it today, but I'm just exhausted with going back to work and then spending some time with the boyfriend tonight. Normally, I'm not able to see him on weeknights because of work and school, but this week is my Spring Break! He'll be leaving bright and early in the morning to spend 5 or 6 days in beautiful Florida. I'm so jealous! Due to my ridiculous work schedule, I wasn't able to miss a week of work right now. He better take lots of pics and miss me a ton! :)  So excited to see him tonight! He told me he'd even watch Secret Life with me.

I'm linking up today with Savanah and Ashlee for Phone Photo Fun Monday! Normally, I don't take a lot of phone pics, but I have promised Mrs. Robinson that I will try to do better and post more pics! So with that said, here is a bit of a preview of what's to come in tomorrow's vacation recap. These are just pics I took on my phone. I took quite a bit more on my camera.

View from back porch of condo. Took this right when we got there. It was a bit cloudy.

Where we ate Friday night. It was soooo good! Glad we got lost and found this place!

Sour Raspberry Martini

Cajun shrimp, garlic mashed potatoes, broccoli, and Mom's crab cake that they put on my plate.

It was so dark in there! Here's me with my mint chocolate martini.

I thought the napkins were really cute!

Saturday morning. There were guys playing volleyball on the beach. Can't really see them too well though.

Cheesy mirror pic. I love this shirt, but I hate how it flows out at times and  makes me look 20 pounds heavier!

Blackberry long island tea and sangria at TGI Friday's.

Our Easter morning breakfast. The Belgian cherry waffle was to die for!

Last picture of the trip. Had to document how I felt about being home, haha!

Happy Monday!

What I'm Loving: 4/3

Happy Wednesday! Today, I'm linking up with Jamie and sharing what I'm loving this week!

- I'm loving this post that I wrote yesterday and all of the wonderful feedback I received. I'm still in the process of writing back to each one of you. Please know that your advice meant the world to me. If you haven't read it, it's one you won't want to miss. I revealed my secret! :)

- I'm loving that my sweet mom took me out to lunch this afternoon. She's the best!

- I'm loving that the Baylor Lady Bears won the NCAA championship last night. If it couldn't be Tennessee, I'm glad that it was them. They had an amazing year. 40-0 record? How can you top that?

- I'm loving that tomorrow is my last day of work for the week. I love a short week!

- I'm loving that I get to go away for the weekend and just chill. Doesn't hurt that it's at the beach either.

- I'm loving that I get to see my wonderful boyfriend before I leave for the beach. Twice in one week? That hasn't happened in awhile! He's going to check my oil and make sure my car is in good condition for the 5 hour drive. He's the best!

- I'm loving that I requested off from work for the week of July 4th.  We will once again be taking our annual July 4th vacation to Atlanta! I think we've started a tradition since we had so much fun last year.

J has a fish coming out of his head, and my face is bright red from 80 degree ATL heat.

We're meerkats (and dorks)!

- I'm loving the fact that baseball season officially starts tonight! Braves do not play until tomorrow though (while I'm at work, not cool), and the Rangers start Friday.

- I'm loving that after 4 nights of horrible sleep, I was finally able to get some wonderful sleep last night.

- I'm loving that I was able to spend time with baby A after work yesterday. We looked at butterflies, and she had a blast "fixing" my hair. She's already a little diva. My mom is her full-time nanny, and I have loved that baby girl since the day she was born. She will be 15 months old tomorrow. She calls me CoCo! It makes my heart melt. Baby fever kicks in big time after a few hours with her.

Hope y'all have a fabulous afternoon and evening!

The Turning Point

Before I begin this post, I need to have a little disclaimer here saying that I am NOT engaged. I can't even tell you that it will happen any time soon, so don't get all excited just yet.... Also, we do not want to live together before getting married since we pretty much did that already. I don't disapprove of it at all. I just know that it doesn't work for us. Now that I've cleared that up, on with today's post.

Hi lovelies! Hope y'all are having a fabulous Tuesday! I feel the need to divulge this information because y'all are my friends, and I know people have been wondering about the status of mine and J's relationship. In the past couple of weeks, we have hit sort of a turning point in our relationship. It's been hard because we rarely get to see much of each other these days. It's definitely put a strain on the relationship. However, I think we both know it's going to go one way or the other. We both know we don't want to break up. We've tried that over the years, and it just doesn't work well. :) So what's next? Well, I think y'all know.....

I feel like it's my fault that we're not married yet. He's 32, I'm 25. I've had a bit of growing up to do in the past 7 years. I'm a completely different person than when we both met. He's changed too, but it hasn't been as drastic of a change. He had already gone through all the confusion of his early 20's. We both knew very early on that we wanted to get married. Am I thrilled that I didn't get married at 20 or 21? Oh lord yes! I am pretty certain that we would be divorced by now. My early 20's weren't pretty which resulted in us taking some time apart. Did we come back stronger from it? Absolutely. Am I ready for the next stage in my life? Yes I am. Am I scared about it? Why yes, I'm quite terrified which is one of the main reasons why there is no ring on my finger. This is why I need a girls weekend! This is why my mind has been jumbled for the past several weeks. This is why we almost broke up a few weeks ago. I'm not scared of being with him, I'm scared of my own self. I'm the most indecisive person you'll ever meet, and this is not the kind of thing you can be indecisive about AT ALL!

So there is my big secret! We're talking about it and discussing our entire relationship. The more we have these conversations, the more we are growing. It's been pretty nice! I just need to stop taking things the wrong way. Apparently, I don't take criticism very well. I'm working on it among other things.

It's not every day that we agree upon a song, but this is one we agree on! :)

One of the things we've discussed is how long of an engagement would we have. As you all know, I'm in school plus I work a crazy full-time job. So I have some questions for those of you who are single, in a relationship, engaged, or married.

1. I've heard wedding planning is pretty stressful. Have any of you had to juggle planning a wedding plus finishing school? If not, did you have anything else stressful going on in your life at the time? If so, how do/did you deal?

2. How long were you and your husband engaged?

3. If you're not currently engaged, would you want a short or long engagement?

These are just some questions I've had in the back of my mind. I need feedback from my fabulous blog friends while I try to find some clarity.

Miscellany Monday 4/2

Happy Monday, lovelies! I'm a little more excited about Monday this week since it puts me one day closer to the beach on Friday. 3 day vacay? Yes please! I found this fabulous link up a couple of weeks ago. Since I usually have a ton of miscellaneous things to talk about, I knew this link up was perfect for me! So here we go! I'm linking up with Lowercase Letters. Go show her some blog love!

1. My mom and I decided that we need a girls weekend, so it's off to the beach on Friday! I'm so excited! I'm bummed that J doesn't get to go, but he will be off to Florida next week. This will be the first family trip that I have not been able to go on. Work wouldn't let me off for 4 days since this is our busiest time of the year. I'm pretty sad about it! :(  I think my mom knew that too since she suggested we head to the beach for the weekend. That makes up for it quite a bit! He's so lucky he is self-employed!

2. This weekend, I had 2 fabulous dates with 2 of my favorite people! Saturday, my mom and I went shopping for shoes. I found a pair of cute "blinged out" flip flops for the beach trip. I also found some cute sandals that are work appropriate.  After shopping, we had a nice dinner where I had some of the yummiest sangria that I've ever had in my life!

Then last night, J and I finally were able to have a date night. For the past few weekends, I've been swamped with homework, I've had a bad cold, then that wonderful time of the month. So yes, I've missed him! He drove down and we spent the evening together. We went out to eat, and he also took me to PetSmart to look at dog supplies. I had no clue what we were doing there! He told me that he had been looking for a new dog. I got a little upset at first because I still really miss our sweet Buddy. I was thinking it was a bit too soon to be looking or thinking about it. Looking back on it, it was a sweet surprise for him to take me there, but I gotta admit that I'm not completely sold on it yet. I kinda wanted to wait on getting another dog until we get our own house. So, we shall see! We had a wonderful evening though! I really miss him! Crossing my fingers that this long distance thing will end shortly..... which makes me want to reveal my secret even more now! Hmmm.... does that give you a hint?

3. The best friend and I had lunch at Rancho Viejo today. Yum! I always love our weekly lunches. I so wish that she could come to the beach with me this weekend, but we work at the same place and in the same department. They aren't going to let us both off. Like I said, busiest time of the year around here!

Hope you girlies have a fabulous week!

Happy Friday! 3/30

Happy Friday! What did I do when I got off work at 5? Came home and took a nap. I was (and still am) exhausted! I didn't sleep well last night, so I've been yawning all day. I'm just catching up on some blogs tonight and eating some coconut shrimp. Yum! Today, I'm linking up for 5 Question Friday.

1. What giveaway would you like to do on your blog?

I'm not sure. I think it would have to be something pretty spectacular for me to do a giveaway. Plus, I would want to wait until I have a bunch of followers. Maybe at 200?

2. If you had to choose between natural artistic ability and natural athletic ability, which would it be?

Well, since I played sports in high school, I would like to think I have some kind of athletic ability already, so I'm going to go with artistic ability. I am definitely not an artsy person. I can't draw to save my life, and I'm not crafty.

3. Do you ditch the coat the minute it becomes "spring" or are you a holdout for more cool temps?

I never fully ditch the coat. 1) I'm cold-natured, so I know I'm going to get cold sometime during the warmer months. 2) I work in Siberia, so I always need a jacket in my office.

4. What would you do if you won the mega millions lotto of 1/2 billion dollars?

Buy a house, buy a house at the beach, new car, pay off school, pay off J's bills, donate

5. You are at a hotel by yourself....what do you do?

Catch up on sleep, reading, and TV watching. Pretty much the same things I do when I'm at home by myself.

Hope y'all have a great weekend!

It's OK Thursday 3/29

Hi lovelies! Today, I am linking up with the fabulous Neely and Amber for It's OK Thursday.

Its Ok Thursdays

IT'S OK....

To stay up an hour past your normal bedtime because you can't quit reading blogs.

To feel completely disorganized after missing a day of work. It takes all of the following day to catch up.

To feel completely burnt out.

That I still haven't done my taxes yet. I absolutely have to do that this weekend. I've been procrastinating because I hate doing my taxes, but I also don't want to pay someone else to do them.

That we went on a 45 minute hike during yoga class yesterday. It was amazing! I'm usually not a nature girl, but it was totally fun. It was a "walking meditation" where you have to be silent the whole time. I needed that silence just to clear my head. Yesterday was the perfect day for it. I plan on making this into a whole post sometime this weekend.

That listening to the Big Mad Morning Show podcasts help me get through the work day. Those guys are hilarious!

To be thinking about taking a day off from the gym today because I'm totally exhausted. I think my body needs a day to recover. I'd rather spend some time in the gym this weekend when it's quiet.

To think every beverage tastes better in a Tervis tumbler. No lie.

To miss my boyfriend soooooo much!

To get back in touch with old friends. Can't wait for my lunch date with Amanda in a couple of weeks! We haven't worked together in 6 years, but reconnected again on FB. I guess it really is good for something after all!

Cori Lately

Hi lovelies! I can't believe it's almost been a week since my last post! Life has been crazy lately. So I thought I'd fill y'all in with what's been going on....bullet style!

  • If I'm not at home or at work, I'm at the gym. The gym is my new addiction. It's a good addiction to have! Usually my BFF Summer and I go together a couple of times a week after work, but Friday it was just me and the iPod. I'm doing the 30 minute circuit once a week. I'm also trying to increase my mileage on the treadmill. I've never been a runner, but that is my goal. The elliptical and I are also becoming friends. I'm also still doing yoga twice a week.
  • I had a weekend of "me time". It was spent watching basketball and the 3rd season of The Hills. I was also BFF with a heating pad because that wonderful time of the month decided to arrive which is why I didn't feel like moving all weekend.
  • If that wasn't enough, late Sunday night, I got a horrible migraine that would not go away. I ended up taking something for it and it knocked me out for 15 hours! Needless to say, I took a personal day at work. Then, I spent all of today catching up on everything I missed on Monday. It was a crazy day!
  • I'm so sad that UNC lost in the Elite 8. I knew it would be hard to get to the Final 4 without my man Kendall Marshall. I know he's like 6 years younger than me, but the boy is sexy! My Lady Vols also lost in the Elite 8. It was a sad weekend. Bring on Braves and Rangers baseball! I'm ready!
  • I feel like I've been such a horrible blogger lately. I honestly feel like I'm rarely at home these days. I promise I will try to do better. I miss all of you! Also, if you miss me, you can always follow me on the Twitter!
  • Secret Life and Make It or Break It started back last night. I love those shows! Make It or Break It was kinda disappointing, but I love Secret Life! It always cracks me up.
I believe that is all that's really been going on for the past week. Hope you are all doing well!

It's OK Thursday

Its Ok Thursdays

Hi lovelies! First of all, thank you so much for all of the sweet comments you left yesterday. I'm so thankful to have great friends! I don't know what I'd do without all of you!

I'm happy to be back for It's OK Thursday! I feel like I haven't done this in awhile. So without further ado....

IT'S OK......

To have had the week from hell.

To be extremely excited about the weekend because of said week from hell.

To have been slightly embarrassed in yoga yesterday because I had no clue how to do one of the poses. The instructor and another girl were trying to show me, and I just wasn't comprehending. I finally got the hang of it though.

To be sad that March Madness is already winding down. We're down to 16 teams. What am I going to do without basketball? Oh that's right....watch baseball! Go Braves and Rangers!

To miss my sweet puppy.

To have an amazing best friend who listens to you vent when you've had a bad day. Love you, Sum!

To be really nervous about the 30 Minute Circuit class that Summer and I will be attending at the gym tonight. Neither one of us has done anything like it before.

To be sick of the cloudy skies. I want my sunshine back!

To be worried when someone out of my core group of people (boyfriend, mom, best friends) is sick.

To be 30 minutes late to work because your alarm decided not to go off. Thank the Lord I've been at my company for quite awhile! Once again, week from hell!

To love all of my blog friends and wish I could throw a huge party and invite all of you. Seriously, I wish we could all meet in real life!

Mourning the loss of our first child

So, I'm contemplating having 2 posts today. If I do, just go with it. Do you really have a choice? haha! I kid. I had to get this all out though in hopes that it will make me feel a little better.

Yesterday was a pretty good day. I worked, took a power nap at lunch, worked some more, worked out at the gym (which went amazing by the way), stopped by to see my mom at work and play with baby A, then went home to catch up on some homework. I was looking forward to a relaxing evening, but of course, things didn't go as planned. As soon as I got home, I got a call from JP saying that Buddy, our beloved first child, had passed away. With him only being 3 years old, I had no idea we'd have to say goodbye to him so soon. There was a thunderstorm last night that turned out to be much worse than anyone thought it would be. The lightning was terrible! Lightning ended up hitting Buddy's collar and he died immediately. I'm guessing it wasn't raining very hard at the time because Buddy would always get in his house to stay in out of the rain. He hated rain! We're just glad that he didn't suffer.

He was a stray puppy who actually showed up at our house one day when JP and I were pretty much living together. After a couple of days of him posting up at our house, we put up fliers around town to see if he anyone would claim him. After a couple of weeks of waiting and falling in love with the little guy, we decided to keep him. We named him Buddy because we had just finished watching Elf on the night he found us. Also, he just looked like a Buddy to us. He definitely was our buddy! I've always been a cat person and have had a cat since I was 11 years old. I was never fond of dogs because I got attacked by one when I was 4 years old while playing in my yard. So yes, I was a little afraid of Buddy right when we got him. He was so lovable though! He would rest his head on my leg, and I would sing to him while petting him. He immediately loved his mommy and daddy! He was never too fond of other people though. As time went on, he started to warm up to other people as well. Who can resist those floppy ears and curly tail?

His favorite hobbies were: Chasing tennis balls and basketballs every time we played out in the yard, barking whenever he heard a loud vehicle, hearing his mommy sing to him, playing and roughhousing with his daddy, and eating his treats every night. We had so many dreams of having an outside wedding so he could be a part of it. We also couldn't wait to have a house with a huge fenced in yard, so he could go wild.

We will always remember our first child. We love you, Buddy! Thanks for bringing so much joy to our lives for the past 3 years.

It's Friday! 3/9

Happy Friday! I am so glad it's finally the weekend. The past week at work has been killer, hence why I didn't have a post yesterday. My brain was completely fried when I got home last night. On the agenda tonight: Target, dinner, ACC tournament. My life revolves around basketball in March. Not sorry. I have big plans to catch up on blogs this weekend too. I know, I know...I say this every weekend. It will happen. Today I'm linking up for Five Question Friday.

1. Are you looking forward to the time change this weekend?

Not at all. Why? Well because that means I will lose an hour of my precious sleep. I value every hour I can get. Also, I'm not a fan of the sun being out until 9 PM. I like it being dark when I come out of yoga class. It helps me relax and gets me ready for some sleep. So yeah, I'm not looking forward to the time change! I didn't mind it much when I lived in Alabama since I was on central time.

2. Are you getting the new iPad/would you want an iPad?

Yes! I definitely want the new iPad! I hate spending money, but I can somewhat justify this purchase.

3. If money was not a problem, what is the one thing you would splurge on?

A fabulous trip somewhere far away. Seriously, that sounds so awesome right now! I even spent  some time looking up plane tickets today. However, there are more important things that I need to spend my money on right now.

4. How did you and the Mr. meet?

Well, I'm currently not married. However, the current boyfriend and I met around the time I moved to NC back in late 2004 on the internet of all places. It was an instant connection! :) After several months of talking, we had our first date.

5. Summer is right around the corner. Bikini or one-piece?

Tankini. I hate one-pieces, but I hate my stomach too, haha!

Hope you all have a fabulous weekend!

Oh How Pinteresting! 3/7

Happy Wednesday! We're halfway to Friday! Tonight, I am making my return to yoga. It's time to get back in the swing of things since I'm finally feeling better. Feeling better is a marvelous thing! It's sad that we (or at least I do) take our health for granted until we get sick. I've missed working out! Here's what I'm loving this week on Pinterest!
