It's OK Thursday

Its Ok Thursdays

It's been awhile since I've linked up for "It's OK Thursday" with Neely and Amber. Actually, it's been a long time since I've blogged at all. Oops! Anyway, why waste any time? What's OK with me right now...

IT'S OK....

To be completely lazy and worthless by 8:00 every night. Seriously I don't feel like doing a thing unless it involves TV, reading, or laying around. It's pathetic and sad.

That I've been too lazy to blog. Lately after work, I just don't feel like thinking anymore. My job is mentally exhausting. I love what I do, but it's the truth.

That I'm going through caffeine withdrawals. Besides my morning coffee, I've been drinking water all day for the past week.

To miss my old office at times. Our new office is definitely awesome and it's cool to be in a huge building, but I'd be lying if I said I kinda miss the way it was.

That I have a love/hate relationship with change.

To be sad that Nashville wasn't new this week. I'm way too addicted to that show. Love it!

To hate this bipolar weather. One day it's 30 degrees, the next day it's 70. It's ridiculous!

That I haven't painted my nails in over a month. Laziness. Seriously.

That I want to come up with something special to do for Valentine's Day, but I have no clue what. I really want to surprise J this year.

That I couldn't care less about the Super Bowl this year since my Patriots blew it, and I have no interest in the Harbaugh's.

What's OK with you this week?

Sunday Social 31

Happy Sunday!

Hope all of you are having a wonderful weekend! I'm feeling a bit under the weather this weekend. Hopefully it's nothing that some sleep and medicine won't fix. I'm getting a little depressed thinking about going back to work tomorrow. I haven't had a full week's worth of work in a long time. It sucks getting back into the groove after the holidays. Since it's Sunday, I'm linking up with Neely and Ashley for Sunday Social.

Sunday Social

1. Do you plan to change any of your eating habits in the new year?
I definitely need to cut back on the sweets. I went a little overboard in the month of December. Time to get back on track!

2. Any workout tips to get us back in shape after the holidays?
At this point, I think any workout is a good workout after the holidays. Just getting back into the workout groove can be a challenge. I know it is for me!

3. What is your favorite thing you did over the holidays?
There were so many moments that I loved over the holidays! Christmas Eve night with J's family, our families getting together for lunch, ringing in the new year together for the first time in 3 years, a shopping trip to Winston the day after New Years Day. I loved the holidays this year! It was less about the gifts, and more about the family!

4. What is something you hope that you accomplish in 2013 that you did not in 2012?
I hope to read more books this year and watch less TV. My goal for this year is 25 books. I only read 6 in 2012.

5. Name 3 things happening this year you are excited about and why.
1. At least one big vacation with J
2. Our 8 year dating anniversary
3. My 10 year high school reunion!

Hope you have a beautiful Sunday!

Friday's Letters

Happy Friday! It's been such a busy week even though I was off for the majority of it. This weekend will probably be a busy one. No rest for the weary! Enough about my lack of sleep, today I'm linking up with Ashley over at The Sweet Season for Friday's Letters.

Dear 2013, So far you've been a good one. I know it's only been 4 days, but can you keep it up please? Dear baby A, I can't believe that you will be 2 years old tomorrow. I remember meeting you just a couple of days after you were born. You were so tiny and adorable. 2 years later, you're still tiny and adorable! You fill my heart with joy and give me the worst case of baby fever. My mom has the best job ever getting to be your nanny. I'm blessed that you're a part of my life also! Dear J, I'm so thankful that I have been able to spend so much time with you for the past 2 weeks while I've had some time off from work. I know life is about to get hectic again, but I promise to always put you and our relationship first. I know I have failed at that in the past year. 2013 is for new beginnings and a wonderful future together. Thank you for having lunch with me at Olive Garden even though I know you're not a huge fan of it. You did it all with a smile! I love you so much! Dear work, you're kinda stressing me out this week. Let's make next week better, ok? Dear Spring Semester, let's make this a better semester than the Fall. Dear Florida State Seminoles, you made me so proud this season! Congrats on winning the Orange Bowl! I'm excited for next season! Dear H&M, I'm obsessed. You're going to make me go broke. Dear bank account, you're depressing me. Dear followers of this little blog, thank you so much for sticking around even after the giveaway and after my long blog breaks in 2012. You're the best! Have a great weekend!

Baby A & I on Christmas night. She was showing me what she got from Santa.

J with his spaghetti at Olive Garden. I cut off some of his head. He was too close and too tall haha! Gotta love phone pics!

New booties from H&M. Love!

One Word 2013: Courage

My word for 2012 was Present. I strived to be present instead of worrying about the future. I wanted to live in the moment. Honestly, I think I did a pretty good job with that this year. There were times where it was hard to stay in the present. My mom struggled with her health, my relationship suffered, I took on a much bigger role at work when I was promoted, and a few other key moments. I always wanted to jump ahead of God, but He had a much bigger plan just like always. I'm happy with where I am today.

For 2013, my word is Courage. I wanted to choose a word that would be challenging for me. Courage is something that I struggle with. My worst fear is hurting the people who are close to me. I worry about speaking up. This past week has shown me that I can be courageous. I can speak up. I can tell people what is bothering me without the world crashing down around me. I don't have to be afraid. I can be courageous when it comes to this blog. I can share what's on my heart. I can be courageous at work. I can do things that scare me.

I had been thinking about this word for about a month. During church on Sunday, our pastor talked about Joshua 1:9. I knew God was telling me that this should be my main focus for the upcoming year. I found a few inspiring pins on Pinterest that I can look back on during the course of this year:

Do you have a word for 2013?

Hello 2013!

Happy New Year! Wishing you a happy and healthy 2013! I had plans for a 2012 recap today, but I'm a little tired from all the celebrating. Staying up until 2:30 AM isn't something I'm used to. This girl needs some sleep! J and I had a fun time celebrating in our comfy clothes, eating pizza, and watching Storage Wars and House Hunters until the ball dropped at midnight. So glad I've been able to spend more time with him in the past week while I've been off from work.

Goodbye 2012!

Happy New Year's Eve! I honestly don't have any exciting plans for New Year's Eve. I plan to stay in my PJ's, watch some football, and have a relaxing evening at home. Boring right? That's how I roll. I'm just excited to have today and the next couple of days off from work!

2012 had its ups and downs, but I plan on giving a total 2012 recap tomorrow. For now, I'm linking up for 5 for Five... 2013 edition. I'm not gonna lie, I usually suck at resolutions. However, these are 5 goals that I really hope to accomplish for the year. I plan to take it week by week though.

1) Go to church regularly
I've struggled with this for the past year. J and I have decided to go back to church together. I'm hoping that this will also strengthen our relationship. Can't hurt right?

2) Read 25 books
Sadly, I only read 6 books in 2012. I want to read 2 books a month and spend less time with Netflix.

3) Grow in my relationship with J
2012 was a challenge. I have a feeling 2013 is going to be a very good year in our relationship. We're both on the same page, we're talking about the future, and we're just enjoying being together. It's hard not being able to see each other very often, but we are both very committed to each other. I love that man!

4) Lose 20 pounds
This one will definitely be a challenge. I want to get back to the weight I was 3 years ago. I need to get my butt back in the gym! I want to be the best me that I can be and that starts with being healthy!

5) Save more money
My goal is to own a home in the next couple of years. Saving money is crucial!

So, there are 5 goals for 2013. What are some goals you have for the new year?

Christmas 2012

Hope everyone had a Merry Christmas! Here are some highlights from mine!

* First of all, I didn't take many pics. I was too busy living in the moment. It happens. I gotta do better in 2013. #bloggerfail Yes that's worthy of a hash tag!

* We had a great Christmas Eve dinner with J's family. I loved getting to spend time with J's cousin's kiddos. They're 7 and 3. So fun!

* I spent Christmas morning with J as usual. We slept in a bit and didn't end up opening gifts until noon. Next year, I told J we need to get matching PJ's for Christmas Eve night haha! Not sure why it took me 8 years to think of that...

* My gifts from J were: a new grill for my car. It's been messed up since I hit a deer a couple of years ago. He's going to make it all pretty again which is part of my present also. The gloves as pictured above. A new black coat. Yoga pants that I literally haven't taken off since Christmas night except to go to work. Katy Perry's "Part of Me" DVD that I've been dying to see. He did good!

* I got a slow cooker from J's parents. I had been wanting one FOREVER! I was so excited!

* From my mom, I received money to put towards fixing up my car from the deer incident as mentioned above. I also got some Philosophy bath gel, lotion, and lip gloss. 2 tumblers. A wireless bluetooth speaker. A couple of candles.

* Day after Christmas, J's mom, sister, my mom, J, and I all met for lunch. J and I also had to stop by Target and Kohl's to finish getting a couple of gifts. Stocked up on some wrapping paper for next year also.

* It was a great Christmas! I'm so blessed to have 2 amazing families. Looking forward to more time spent with all of them while I have more time off this week.
New hi-tech gloves from J, so I can still text and do everything I need to do when my hands are cold. He thinks of everything! Blurry phone pic, sorry.

Sunday Social: Week 29

Sunday Social

Happy Sunday! I'd like to welcome all of my new followers and apologize for not being here very much this week. We've been moving in to our new building at work for most of the week. I never knew how exhausting that could be. I'm glad that I can finally relax now and enjoy the holidays! No more work until Thursday!

Here are this week's Sunday Social questions:

1. What is your favorite ice cream flavor?
Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough. Yum!

2. What is your favorite smell?
Slatkin & Co candles from BBW. I stock up on these every time there's a sale. Last weekend, I bought 5 for $30. Regularly, they're $20 each. My favorite this year is Peppermint Mocha!

3. What is your favorite TV commercial?
The e-trade commercials with the talking baby. Cracks me up every time!

4. What is your favorite day of the week?
Saturday! Sleeping in, football or basketball games, and whatever else there is to do.

5. What is your favorite way to waste time?
Twitter, finding new blogs, watching hours of Netflix, Pinterest.

6. What is your favorite article of clothing?
OK, I know I'm not 14 anymore, but these pants I've had from Aeropostale for years! They are the most comfortable pants for lounging around the house. I can't part with them.

Hope everyone is enjoying their Christmas weekend!

Giveaways, moving, and some time off!

Happy Wednesday! It's been a busy week so far! Tomorrow, my office location is moving down the street to a bigger office building. I have to admit, I'm getting really sad. Boss Man and I started packing up our offices this afternoon. Everything is starting to look so empty. After being in the same office for 5 years, it's hard leaving what I've always known. Boss Man won't be across the hall anymore either. I'll get used to it, but I hate change.

Moving on... ha! moving! Anyway... today, I'm giving away a $25 Sephora gift card at Mackey Madness. Megan is a super sweet momma-to-be, and I've really enjoyed following her blog for the past year. Go check out the $440 worth of prizes on her blog today!

After we get everything moved in on Friday, I'll have a 5 day weekend for Christmas! What's sad is that I haven't really thought about Christmas with all the stuff at work going on and getting ready to move. I'm ready to put it behind me and enjoy the holidays! Hopefully, I'll have more time for blogging too!

I'm gonna go drown my moving sorrows with some wine now! :)

Sunday Social

Sunday Social

Happy Sunday everyone! I'm not feeling the best this weekend, so it's been a weekend full of blogging, watching Netflix, college bowl games, and some basketball too. It's pouring outside, but I'm out of milk for my cereal in the morning. I'm also out of some other key items that I must have for the week. I guess I'll go get it over with, so I can be lazy rest later.

Linking up with Neely and Ashley for the 28th week of Sunday Social.

1. What is the wallpaper on your cell phone? A picture of my love :) I miss him.

2. What do you keep beside your bed? Remotes, phone (at night)

3. What is your least favorite chore? Cleaning the bathroom. I despise it.

4. If you could eliminate one thing from your daily routine, what would it be? Getting out of bed so early. Seriously, if I could get a couple extra hours of sleep every night, I'd be golden.

5. What do you do to vent anger? Cry, talk to the boyfriend or best friend, listen to music, or write.

6. What is your favorite holiday of the year and why? Christmas. I love that we get to celebrate the birth of Jesus, I love decorating, I love surprising people with their gifts, and I love getting some time off from work!

Hope y'all have a great day! Ashley & JP's (the Bachelorette) wedding is on tonight! I love those two, so I'm kinda excited! :) I need to get out more... ha!

Just a few letters...

Photobucket

It's time for some letters!

Dear Friday, thank you for finally showing up! It's been the longest week ever. Dear Blog, I'm sorry I've neglected you for the past week. The end of the semester and my job have kept me way too busy. Dear Sleeping Pill, you were much needed the other night. Thank you for doing your job! Dear 28 degree weather that we're supposed to get tonight, I'm not fond of you. You can go away now. Dear J, thanks for making a sucky week just a bit more awesome. Dear Begin Again, your lyrics have never been more true. "I watched it begin again..." Dear New Office, I hope you hold as many fun memories as the old office does. I'm a little nervous about you. Dear Wine, You were also much needed tonight. Dear weird Sportscenter hosts that I've never seen before, y'all are a little weird. Where did you come from, and can the others one come back now? Dear Leah from TM2, I wanted to dislike Jeremy because I liked Corey so much, but I gotta admit, I kinda like y'all together. Dear Sleep, I promise we'll catch up this weekend. Dear Judy, thanks for doing an awesome job with my hair and for the good conversation. Dear Me, stop playing hard to get. Stop writing blog posts after you've had wine. Oh, and stop settling for less than you deserve. Dear Blog Followers, thanks for listening to me ramble :) Hope y'all have a great weekend!

Firsts

Happy Tuesday! My least favorite day... ugh! I've seen a couple of bloggers do this (note: I take no credit for coming up with this), and I thought it was pretty cool. I'm SLOWLY coming out of my blog funk. Hopefully, I'll be in the mood to write more. I feel my creativity waking back up!

First thing you do when you wake up in the morning:
Hit snooze a few times. I need to stop. It's getting ridiculous.

First thing you reach for when you open the fridge:
Usually something to drink.

First thing you do when you get to the gym:
Oh right, the gym. I do have a membership there. Sadly, I haven't stepped foot in the gym for a few months. However, when I did go on the regular, I would first get on the treadmill.

Source: theberry.com via Cori on Pinterest

First thing you do when you get home from work:
Put on comfy clothes & of course, take off the bra. Just keeping it real with you!

First car:
A black 2000 Chevy Malibu

First accident:
A great-grandpa backed out and hit my car in a parking lot. It was just a couple of weeks after I got my license. I wasn't thrilled.

First thing you wanted to be when you grew up:
A teacher

First choice beverage:
Currently, Sierra Mist Cranberry Splash. Addicted. If not that, then water or sweet tea.

First choice breakfast:
Usually I'm content with my bowl of Frosted Mini Wheats, but I love waffles too.

First choice dessert:
Tiramisu or Cheesecake

First song that comes to mind:
Just a Fool - Christina Aguilera & Blake Shelton. I'm currently obsessed with this song. Can't stop listening to it.

First major purchase:
A laptop I bought in 2008.

First job:
The summer after my sophomore year of high school, I worked in a daycare.

First time you flew on a plane:
I was a year old. My mom and I flew from Alabama to North Carolina.

I'd go back to December, turn around and make it all right

Happy December! One of the busiest months of the year! It's also a month where I get a little sad. I know you're thinking, "sad? in December? why? how?". Well that's a long story, but I am excited about a few things this month. Here are some plans/goals for this month...

* Try to get through this massive project that I've been put in charge of at work without losing my mind. It's been fun so far though even if it has been a bit stressful.

* Plan a surprise for someone :)

* Celebrate the best friend's birthday

* Get through the last 2 weeks of school.

* Go to a Christmas parade

* Get all of my Christmas shopping completed by Dec 15th.

* Be courageous/unafraid.

* Do something new with my hair.. whether it be color, cut, etc.

* Move to a new office building. Decorate and organize my new office space.

* Enjoy the holidays without stressing.

* Take some time off from work to regroup for the new year.

* Watch all the bowl games :)

* Possibly take some kind of trip?

* Bake something!!! Since I'll actually have some time off to do so.

What are some plans/goals that you have for this month?

Begin Again

This quote is my inspiration. Start all over again? Yes, that's what I want to do. I'm contemplating starting a new blog in January. I'm giving myself a little time to get back in the swing of blogging. I don't want to start a new blog just to go on hiatus again. So until January 1, I'll be here. I won't be posting every little detail of my life for the next couple of months, but I will be sure to fill you in on the highlights. Everything seems to be changing. For those of you who have started new blogs, how tough is it? Do you regret it? Any tips or anything I should know or prepare for?

A few major life events have occurred in the past couple of months. On September 12, I accepted a new position as Project Coordinator within my company. It's a job that I had been wanting for a few months which is kinda funny because this position didn't even exist until I was promoted. It's amazing how God works. My new job keeps me very busy. I no longer punch a time clock every day. I have more responsibility. I work directly with clients. I can't just hide in my cube every day and work. I absolutely love what I do no matter how exhausted I may get. I'm so thankful for the opportunity. This is mostly why my blogging has taken a backseat. Now that I'm finally adjusting, I'm hoping that I'm back for good.

Other major life events have taken place, but like I said, I can't share it all at this time. Some of you may already know, and if you don't, well then you'll know soon.

It's amazing that it's already November. This has been one of the fastest, scariest, and exciting years of my life. I know there's plenty of excitement to come!

I miss all of you, but I'm glad that I've been able to keep up with most of you on Twitter!

Week in Review

Source: shutterfly.com via Cori on Pinterest

Happy Labor Day, y'all! I'm enjoying the last day of my long weekend. I really haven't done much of anything, but that's alright. I spent my entire Sunday reading. I finally read "Heart of the Matter" by Emily Giffin. J bought me the book for my birthday LAST year. That tells you how busy I've been, and how I haven't had much time for reading. I was a little disappointed in the book. I found myself being really mad after I read it. Oh well.

Nothing exciting happened Monday or Tuesday except work, homework, and the finales of Secret Life and Teen Mom. I hated the Secret Life cliffhanger, now we will have to wait until January to see if he makes it. Lovely. Teen Mom made me cry happy and sad tears. I can kinda see why Amber went crazy now because of how Gary was towards her, plus she rarely got to see her daughter. I hope she gets the help she needs in jail. I'm so going to miss Maci and Bentley though. I really hope they have a spin-off or something. They really need to have a special for Catelynn and Tyler's wedding too. My Tuesday nights just won't be the same now.

Wednesday night, I had to go to my Com class after work. Thankfully, no speaking was involved this time. I'm definitely not looking forward to my first speech which is in a couple of weeks. Help! I know this will help me be able to communicate better with others though, and that's what I need for the field of work I'm in.

Thursday after work, Mom and I had dinner at Ruby Tuesday because we had a $10 off coupon. It was yummy! We got home just in time to see the first college football game of the season. South Carolina won, so that made me happy! I'm so glad that football is finally here!

Friday, it was College Colors Day, so I wore my FSU shirt to work since it was casual Friday. I know it's not very professional, but you gotta participate in College Colors Day. Also, I found out a secret that I can't wait to share! That night consisted of more football watching and pretty much the same thing happened on Saturday. I told you I'm not much fun during football season, haha!

Please someone hit me for saying this, but I'm kinda excited to go back to work tomorrow because I know I have so much that needs to get done this week. I'm not excited about getting up at 6 AM though! I've loved being able to sleep in. Hope y'all are having a great Labor Day weekend!

xoxo C

Friday!

Happy Friday, y'all! We've finally made it to the three day weekend! I'm ready to relax and watch some football. Today, I'm linking up with Lauren over at the The Little Things We Do for Fill in the Blank Friday. I haven't participated in the link-up in quite awhile, but today is a good day for it because I think my brain is already on vacation!

1. Over this labor day weekend I will be   sleeping in, watching an insane amount of football, and enjoying some time off. Nothing exciting, but that's how I like it.

2. With the political debates going on right now, my thoughts are   quit trying to force your opinion on someone else. We all have a difference of opinion and this is why we vote.

3. Today   I will go to work and hopefully it will go by fast. Looking forward to watching 2 of my fave teams play tonight. Go Vols and Go Ducks!

4. The best thing I've cooked recently is   uhhh... me? cook? funny. Actually, I did make some mac and cheese with some broccoli the other night that was pretty good.

5. The last thing I bought was   groceries. Exciting, I know.

6. The best movie I saw this summer was   Ice Age 4. It wasn't as good as the previous ones, but I really didn't go to many movies this summer.

7. The best book I read this summer was   Finally and Forever by Robin Jones Gunn.

Hope y'all have a great Labor Day weekend!

xoxo C
